So wrong…. Stock to stock the performance package version mustangs handle better. Maybe not as fun as the 86 handling, but definitely faster and more Gs.
I guess your idea of better handling differs from mine. In a numbers game, the Mustang surely wins. But to me, handling is feel. It is so much easier to put the FRS where I want it. It is way more predictable and has infinitely better steering feel. Did you ever see the Top Gear video of Jeremy Clarkson drifting a GT86 while reading a book?

I did drive the FRS back to back with a GTPP, which is the car I am buying this spring. My first impressions review is here: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10476

Maybe the FRS feels like it handles better because you can't get up enough speed to find the cornering limits. :p

Lol yes if you're comparing the v8 to the FRS. I was you, until I put lowering springs on the ecoboost. Omg I can attack corners with 95% of the same precision as my FRS and I haven't upgraded the rubber yet. I never expected this feel from a mustang. Not having the v8 up front really wakes up the steering feedback. Seat of the pants feeling seems just about where the new Stingray is on cornering speeds that I test drove. The front to rear balance is about the same as the FRS also in the Ecoboost. But with the tuned Ecoboost I need 2 hands on the wheel for the first time on any car ive owned. The torque is wild.

With the move to IRS platform on the GT, the base PP GT became what I was looking for out of a upgrade to the BRZ that hasn't come (albeit heavier and larger). My usual mods to cars should make this platform even better.

The FRS is way underestimated. It's not slow compared to normal cars. It's just not as fast as all the high horsepower cars in this horsepower wars era.

If they'd kick out a BRZ / STI Id deal with a so- so interior, no problem. I prefer a KISS interior anyways. And creaks and rattles, well I've been living with my STI for almost 10 yrs, haha.

Yeah, a reason why I wouldn't mind owning a 03-04 Cobra or even a Mach 1. There's something special about that Spartan, plasticy interior that you can't beat somehow. Can't really explain it.

Less shit to go wrong and the "light is right" formula is tops in my book, haha.

Thanks everyone, just placed my order for a 2015 Black V6 MT. Too bad there isn't a premium trim for the v6 but ill be looking forward to some tasteful modding. Cheers!
