Hmm interesting. Yes it is Brandon Ford. Weird thing is this was the cheapest gt automatic they had. Not sure if it was sitting on the lot for awhile but it was cheaper than a regular gt with no options. Perhaps trying to cover up a ding or scratches.

No....no, they're not trying to cover-up dings and scratches. Where did you get that idea? You think some dings and scratches just happened to be exactly where the stripes were installed, and on a brand-new car?

This is a very old, well-known dealer trick to add profit to a vehicle. They slap stickers, stripes and spoilers on a car, and jack the price waaaay up. And 1/2 the time such cars sit un-sold for a long time, because few people want that stuff on their car.

Probably ordered that way......
It wasn't ordered that way, the dealer had those installed. It's just a pricing gimmick.

FWIW, before you buy your next new car, do some more research. Even just hopping on Ford's website and exploring all the options while you built your Mustang would show you those aren't factory optioned stripes. And you could have gone into your purchasing negotiation with more knowledge on your side.

I’m happy with my purchase. I don’t mind the stripes. Thanks for the info

Some dealers have a custom pack they install on their cars automatically. I think this is more prevalent metro areas where manufacturers have dealers in close proximity - trying to draw customers to their particular lot.

My dad had a Nissan Maxima company car that was ordered through fleet services. When the delivering dealer received the car, they automatically added pinstripes, mudguards and a sunroof deflector. It was explained to them that we aren't personally buying the car, the fleet services company is, and they may not pay for those accessories. I don't believe they were compensated for those additions.

I know a lot of used car lots add racing stripes to cover rock chips, but for a car with <100 mi, naw.

BTW - This one has 'custom' leather.
