Hidden Features in the 2015 Mustang
Here are a couple of thing engineered into the 2015 Mustang prior years didn't have, outside of what's documented. Post up if you've found other things.
Creep Assist (manual cars)
- If you are in a drive-through or really bad traffic jam, just as you put the car in 1st gear and begin to lightly take your foot off the clutch, just slightly tap the gas/throttle and the computer will pickup and keep the engine rpm's around 950 rpm without you touching the throttle.
Umbrella slot (compact style)
- Found that the pockets in the door panels have very deep pockets/holes extending backwards from the opening that run back nearly the length of the door panel. This area is covered and not easily reachable by hand. I grabbed my umbrella off the rear floor board, and sure enough, an umbrella slides right into that area leaving just the handle end of an umbrella exposed. ** On a side note, if you hear any rattle or noises in your car, reach your hand in each door to make sure something didn't slide back in there.
Lost features for 2015 (coming from earlier years):
Fuel Usage over 5 or 10 minute intervals
- On my 2011, 12, and 14, under fuel usage you could view average fuel consumption on 5-minute, 10-minute, or 30-minute intervals. It appears that for 2015, we only have 30-minutes as an option. I usually left the 5-minute internal on the screen to remind and track my driving habits against fuel usage, as it was easy to see the impact from a few minutes of horseplay.
