The part#JR3Z-9P437-A Ford Resonator is used by the Mach 1, BULLITT, and Mustang GT.

Does anyone know if the stock Mach1 resonator fits the 2022 Mustang GT with active exhaust? The Mach1 sounds so much throatier. I don’t want to go with resonator delete because it’s too raspy.
Mach 1 has the GT500 mufflers/tips, this the reason for the exhaust sound difference (and tune). The tips are also perforated, which is unique to the Mach 1. Resonator is the same for the GT/Mach 1.

Stock manifolds with three inch diameter down tubes and double H-Pipe connected to Mach 1 mufflers is significantly louder than stock. I don't have data for sound comparisons but adding the Vibrant bullet resonators didn't seem to have any impact.

I think the GT500 has larger bore tubing than the M1 ?

I think the M1 muffler is more akin to a GT muffler, but with the larger, slightly relocated tips ?

I’m not sure of the M1 tubing size, so perhaps 2.50” vs. 2.75”? My understanding is that the M1 mufflers (and perhaps tail-pipe) are from the GT500.

Tailpipes are defo different on the M1 and 500 :like:

I believe the M1 tubing size is the same as a GT (smaller than a 500) :like:

I think the exhaust and pipes were based off the GT500 but it is Mach 1 specific. The Mach 1 can use the actual GT500 exhaust the easiest we just need a connecting piece to step it up to the bigger GT500 pipes. The Mach 1 tips are 4.5" and the GT500 tips are 5".

Ford is so weird with exhaust pipes. They did the same thing with the GT350(R)s…2.75” to 2.25”.

Just by chance someone posted a photo of some work they had been doing on their M1 and it showed part of the muffler quite well - I compared it to my GT and the pressing / fabrication is identical (GT on top, M1 on the bottom) :

The GT500 mufflers also have an integral heat shield / second layer spot welded onto the top surface.

They were selling the Mach 1 exhaust kit for a while for GT, even included the GT500 lower valance too
