Question on gen 3 mani on gen 2 coyote

So I got my hands on a 21 ported mani for my 15 mustang GT and when I look at the install it seems conflicting
VMP makes plug and play CMCV swap harness but I see people talking about a lockout kit for IMRC and CMCV?
I don’t know seems like simple install but is there something I’m missing?

If you are aftermarket tuned, they mostly will have you lock them out. The charge motion is mostly for fuel economy.

I'm not sure that's 100% true. I think the CMCV also help lower speed drivability as well. I haven't driven a car with them locked out, but that's what I've read. If you have a manual trans car I would NOT lock them out.

A lot of engineering goes into stuff like this and they don't do it for no reason. I'd keep CMCV active if its a street car, especially if it's a manual trans.

They do it to meet emissions standards. Thousands of people lock out their IMRCs, Ive never heard anyone say there were drivability issues with them locked out. Mine are locked, no issues.

See below from the thread YOU quoted....

Lol of course you would need a retune after locking them out. Hes also switching to an 18+ manifold which would also need a retune... CEL and other issues would definitely occur on the stock tune.

Take a look at my original post in this thread... where I directly say this as well. Yikes...

IMRC lock outs don't affect drivability. Think about that silly logic for a minute. Maybe back in 2015-2016 when people were locking them open, and tuners didn't figure out how to make them work yet. Thats 10 years ago. Any car with a PD blower essentially has them locked out since the manifold doesn't even exist anymore. They drive fine.
My personal car has had them locked out for over a year now. No issues. (manual transmission)
The main reason people don't lock them out is because it requires a tune. If you're N/A and don't want to spend extra money on a tune, then don't lock them out since the current tune isn't set up for that.
If you have them locked out and have drivability issues, then its 1 of 2 things. You have a mechanical problem, or your tune sucks.

keep them active get a tune & as for street drivability (torque) low end only, plus it dosnt rely matter after 4000rpm anyway the 2015 dose not have the same engine cylinder compression as the 2018. TMO
