Update for anyone else that gets this kit: since there's only 1 flange for the driver side header I needed another for the cat, luckily Joey here https://customfabshop.com/contact-us/ was able to make another one for me with the same dimensions and everything for $45. Tried looking online but couldn't find any 2 bolt flanges that were 4.75" center to center like the provided one

Kooks had one but long lead time. I made my own as well out of 304 rather then 409

Thanks for sharing everything! It's extremely helpful. Your install flows nicely with the MAK pipe install instructions
The hard work is well justified. The MAK pipes w/ G-Sport UHO are $2.5k.

I'm doing some digging to see if the S197 header and flange orientation could reduce the difficulty of this conversion. I can justify purchasing the BR3Z-9431-C if it did not need to be modified.

I'm going crossed cross-eyed staring at the pics below... but the comparison between the MAK and your install seems to at least confirm space to clock the DS weld-on header flange however necessary. Yours and MAK's flange orientation look to differ by ~90 degrees. The S197 header flange looks temptingly close to mating up with the MAK pipe based on the O2 bung.

I can justify $2.7k if was as simple as swapping the DS header and slotting some flange holes. Ending with a set of OE cats to sell is a plus.

That's a nice dream. Pics are deceiving. Cars are pain... There's no way it's that easy.

You can use the 14 and under S197. It does fit and as you mentioned it's clocked 90 degrees from the mak/2m kit. The primary pipe convergence is a bit different. If you are adding a cat like with the 2M kit, it won't matter. You can re clock the flange. On the Mak kit you will have to cut off the flange and re orient. In that case it makes more sense to use the S550 header and add the flange.

I thought about that. But I after having to bang the bejesus out of the header, I gave up on that idea. After chopping it off, ther isn't much material left at the end. and yes it's oval. Maybe a muffler shop with a hydraulic expander can get it round.
