Mach 1 OEM 19” wheels vs OEM 17”

I am ready to get the Mach 1 OEM wheels for my V6.

I am a casual driver and have no issues with my OEM 17” wheels as well with the OEM Hankook tired. I just like the sTyle of the Mach 1 wheels.

1. Will I feel any difference in driving ?
2. What tires would you recommend?
3. Anything I should keep in mind?

Those are the Mach 1 handling package wheels, which are 19x10.5 front with 305/30 tires and 19x11 rear with 315/30 tires. They will "fit" on your car but those sizes are overkill for your use. If I was in your shoes and completely committed to that style I'd get the SVE replica versions in 19x10 square with 275 or 285 tires.

I suggested 275 or 285 width tires because they are the ideal fit for the LMR/SVE 19x10 wheels I recommended. To be honest, with the use you described for your car and 300 hp you probably don't "need" anything wider than 255/265, but those sizes would require narrower wheels. The SVE wheels would provide the style you want and a significant upgrade in handling and grip.

305 and 315 are very wide and generally for track use. Bigger tires are more expensive and those Mach 1 handling package wheels can't be rotated.

I love those wheels, great choice.
Heads up though, they are performance wheels. MidwayJ gave solid advice.

To your questions;

1 - Yes those Mach HP wheels are a big change from the 17s. The thinner side wall tires will feel slightly more rigid, you'll feel more bumps and the larger overall tire size will have a little more road noise. They are a staggered setup (bigger tires in rear) so you'll have different turning characteristics. Also, the wide rears will improve rear grip which reduces peeling out under power.

2 - Michelin All Season or Continental All Season since you're fine with the current tires

3 - The tires available for those Mach HP rims will cost noticeably more than the 17" Hankooks you are used to and they will skew toward performance more than daily driveability. Also, wider tires may tramline. Staggered tires cannot be properly rotated so prepare to buy tires more often. Changing from 17 to 19 will likely alter the acceleration characteristics of the car. And you'll probably need to reprogram your speedometer or it may become inaccurate from the change in wheel size.

You’re also adding more rotational mass for your v6 to move, so keep that in mind.

Yes especially when you are down on power. With a GT not so much. Will it be a massive difference like there’s a boat anchor dragging behind your car? No.

do your research re: weight of wheels.. I know with my aftermarket SVEs I went 1.5” wider and saved almost 10 pounds per corner. With the bigger tires it ended up probably being a wash, but I’d go aftermarket personally.

Go big or go home. You're doing it for the looks so get the bigger, wider tires.

The car will definitely drive different with those big tires on it. Handle better but it will follow the cracks/grooves in the road. I would get whatever ultra high performance summer tire you can afford that isn't a Chinese tire.

Keep in mind that the 17" OEM wheels are only about 20lbs, a lot of people spend good money to go from 30lb wheels to 20lb aftermarket wheels. You will probably lose about 10hp with the heavier wheels but you won't notice if you don't live at the drag strip or racetrack.

I agree about aftermarket. The wheels you have pictured (I have them on my Mach 1 :) ) they are heavy and the fronts are wide enough to stick out beyond the fender well, the Mach 1 HP cars with them have fender extensions to help compensate for this, BUT you can get the Aftermarket version that have the same look that are not as offset and don't stick out so far. Plus they are lighter, and cheaper... Just my $0.02, if you want that style, get the aftermarket equivalent. Lighter and fit better...
