Ha! Again I appreciate your efforts. Thinking about it, it would be borderline impossible to get a GT500 down to 3400 pounds with a DCT and stock body panels. A headscrather for sure. I'm impressed.
Steve's GT500 is 3280 With the factory DCT.

i have to retain more stuff in the track mod class i compete my 500 in so i will be around 3400. I’ll post the pix when its done, factory dct, and twin turbos so technically more weight

and as a rule of thumb, for us who actually compete with our cars…… not just track them on the weekends…… 100lbs is around 1-2 seconds on track.

Also transferring the weight is key cuz the 500 is a turd up front so getting more weight in back is huge. I throw my 350 around on track way easier than my 500, even though my 350 is 3450lbs (gt3 custom cage)

He already explained it to you but you’re not listening…it’s CUMULATIVE. You’re looking at it as only one part….Tomster is talking multiple items and deletions for a cumulative weight reduction. Expand your thought process.
I'm not an idiot. I'm looking at 20 pounds savings for $3000... and less than 100 pounds for what, $8000? If you're cutting fat at that rate, you could buy a dedicated track car and completely gut it for the price of 3 or 4 of those "mods".

Just an alternate opinion.

So much for crickets.....

Well, you used the word idiot. How did you come up with an $8,000 price to lose 100 pounds?

I’ve wanted this hood from the time I first saw it??
Couple of questions for the pros.
How is the fit on Shelby products? Just wondering about gaps and such.
It is this hood setup for the factory vent? I would have to upgrade to the carbon fiber vent from ford performance?

Yes, first impressions were how light it was.

What is everyone's problem?

To be fair it’s an expensive part that many have a hard time justifying the cost. I wouldn’t if I was track oriented. The other thing is this type of forum is as close as most will get to exposusure to a part like this so some of the what we think are pretty basic questions are legit for those that aren’t able to see and touch such a part before making that decision.
