Picked up today a 22 CFTP Carbonized Grey with painted black stripes (See pics). Car is fully paint corrected and ceramic coated and the carbon wheels have no marks/dings. Only had 1500 miles and ended up paying MSRP price. Couple questions wanted to ask you guys.

1. See pic above passenger tail light. Didn’t notice it until getting it home. Is this a factory chip from assembly or you think someone did it taking off the tail lights? There is no metal it’s like a white powder very weird. Professionals did everything on the car so I’d like to think they would have informed previous owner. What would be the best method of repair if any?

2. Does ceramic have to be removed to be able to do PPF which I would like

Thanks!

First, beautiful car. Great color combo. You can install ppf over ceramic, not an issue. Difficult to tell from the photo but is that a chip or a spot on top of the paint.

Thank you! I can try in the sun tomorrow for a better pic. Best way to describe it is a very small indentation where paint would have normally filled it in. I would expect metal but this is like a hardened white powder where there is no paint. I’ve seen mustangs Shelby’s and non Shelby’s where paint has flaked off at the edges of body panels where it’s so thin/bad factory finish so didn’t know if it could possibly be that or couldn’t imagine taking off a tail light could have removed paint and chip it like that considering the rest of the car is flawless and professional work

Nothing screams ricer quite like tinted taillights, but at least they dramatically increase the likelihood of being rear-ended.

Otherwise, beautiful machine. Congrats.

The chances are high just from people on my way home trying to race lol. To each their own! I personally think the color scheme on the car all carbonized/black with tint looks fantastic. I plan on adding tint for the headlight reflector only and turn signals to complete the look.

You bought that car? I'm honestly surprised they let it go for MSRP. I looked at it when they first got it early last month. They were asking $130k for it then, I offered $115k and was told there was no way they would be selling it for anywhere near that "low" of a price. They were very not interested in trying to sell it then, I'm glad to see you get it for less than I offered after being told no way.

Wow! I saw it had been on the lot I think 15-16 days. When I got there the price had been dropped to what you offered from 119k. Negotiated down to where I wanted out the door tax/tag/title. I will say there is another one up in North GA with 2k miles for 115k rn same spec just no paint correction/ceramic. Let me know if you’d like the link

First, some can’t help themselves with their …. comments. Is what it is. :ontheloo: As for the chip, that’s a fix just about anybody can do with a little patience. Where its at makes it easier since what your eye is catching is the color difference and not a pit that would be on a panel for example from a rock. Old paint and body guy here so its second nature for me. Here’s a link to a company that makes pretty decent products just for stuff like this. They have a tutorial on their site but theirs some pretty decent ones on youtube as well. I’ll look a little later and link one a couple. Be much easier then trying to explain the process.

It went from their lot to someone I assume they're associated with in another state and came back. It was a super nice car, the tinted tails not my cup of tea but otherwise super nice. I had them move it to the service dept and put it up on a rack to inspect the bottom of it and I saw nothing of concern.

Good to hear. Did not look underneath but thank you for the info! I saw what you said on Carfax that was pulled from a buddy at another dealer. All I know is they did know the individual and he is always buying cars and is a very successful business owner. The other car I mentioned same spec with 2k miles is at John Megel Ford if you wanna look
