2nd mod....Redline tuning hood struts. Only thing I don't like is how you can't take the battery cover off with the right strut still on. What's the deal with that?

Can you slot the battery cover so you can get it off without taking the strut off?

-T
Yeah I thought about doing that, but the edge of the cover is actually a rubber seal that is molded in with the plastic, so not sure if I want to cannibalize it to see! I read on the Redline Tuning Strut thread that there's enough room to swing it around to access the battery, but just a little bit of a pain if you asked me. I haven't tried it yet, but will later. I just don't want to have to get a jump one day and swing the cover around and scratch my gender up or something!

"Natalie" as in Gulbis? Congrats!
Ha! Not a bad rationale either! But we usually name our cars after favorite actresses or their characters. This one is named after Natalie Portman. Our Fusion is Olivia for Olivia Wilde. My 94 GT is Audrey after the daughter in Vegas Vacation who I thought was hot (at least the movie was somewhat new back then in 2002 when I bought her...lol)

Congratulations on the new car! I hope you don't scratch your gender. That hurts! :-)

Do the struts lift the hood or just hold it? And how hard is it to close?

Super easy to close. Struts help close it and don't even have to slam it! Very nice. They lift it somewhat but need to give it a slight nudge initially
