Just received the very first Driveshaft Shop Carbon Fiber driveshaft for our EB car and this thing is amazing. They did such a good job making this unit and we are very happy to be testing it just as soon as we get our clutch in our car. :headbang:

If anyone is in need of a Driveshaft shop driveshaft just give us a call, we would be happy to hook you up with a great price on a great product.

I will have weight comparisons soon.

Looking forward to the weight results.

Hey, what do you guys charge for a dyno pull? I'm in Baltimore and was thinking of driving over to you just to see what my tune puts down 100%.

I will be curious to see if it does anything more than shed weight. I had an aluminum on my Coyote and there was no reduction in ET.

I believe stock is a 2 piece DS with a large heavy bearing center so a 1 piece would save quite a lot on the EB. I'm holding out for a 1 piece Aluminum one myself.

Any updates on the clutch/flywheel development?
Coming along nicely. Mcleod should have something to us very soon for testing. I believe we will be testing a dual disc RST with steel flywheel for them and look forward to the results. I will update everyone just as soon as I can. :headbang:

Curious how the motor will respond to what I'm guessing will be a much lighter flywheel than the stock dual mass unit.

Should respond very well. The stock setup is almost 70lbs....:eyebulge:

We look forward to testing this and figured the best thing to do before pushing he big power we plan on making is ensure that our drive train can handle it.

We have alot in the works at the moment and are focusing on not only the intercooler but the fuel system. We have some great ideas for curing fueling needs with bigger power so stay tuned...

I am sure it is a beast. However, these are $800-$1000 items. If the performance benefit is minimal, I consider this to be one of those "last in line" mods, where you are desperately chasing a tenth or two.

Ours is carbon fiber and yes at the high end of cost for sure but we wanted to test the best part we could find for our car and taking that heavy stock two piece unit off with its much higher rotating mass is going to make a big difference.

Its been proven over the years that a one piece aluminum or CF driveshaft does increase performance and when your going for bolt on performance without going into the engine or changing turbo's etc... you want to maximize your effort and I say that this is one piece of the puzzle and well worth the cost. FWIW Alum one piece units can usually be had for much less then what is advertised as retail. :headbang:

Like I said before in this thread, with my 2012 I saw absolutely no reduction in ET when I went to a DSS aluminum DS over my stocker. My car was was an all bolt-on 6 speed. I ended up selling it as it was not worth it in my book and the car drove nicer with the stock unit. My car was not as fast as your Coyote, but this was my experience.

I liked the reduced shifting effort - smooth like butter after adding the Aluminum driveshaft to my car and better throttle response. How consistent are your launches? If you can't launch a car to run in a bracket class with consistent times then you won't notice much change to the E.T. with an aftermarket driveshaft.

I had over 50 passes on the car and my 60 foot times were just about identical after I got enough seat time. I took the car to the track twice after I installed the DS and I could not improve my time over my best passes. It was my experience with one. I am not opposed to them, but if I am going to spend a grand on a speed part, it had better show a return with no effort.

Mike

p.s. I would not consider a manual car a good candidate for bracket racing where the consistency of an auto with a brake and delay box is what you are looking for.

Curious, how does a ds increase throttle response? Push on pedal, engine revs...never heard drivetrain being part of the equation...?

My experience w/ Al shafts is that they're good for a tenth or so depending on application. Noticeable reduction in NVH, however.

CF ds is too rich for this po' boy.
