Rear seat delete.

New owner and a tad off topic...

I've read a few places about the rear seats; but I haven't seen anything about potentially making them fold down like the coupe.

As best I can tell there is some structural differences, but there is still a decent sized hole below the top stowage compartment that would be a useful pass through. I'm 99% sure I'm touching the back of the seats from inside the trunk.

Anyone had their seats apart to see if it would be possible to anchor the coupe seats (plus hinges and latches)?

My cousin said I should just visit a junk yard and check things out to see what might be involved.

I have my rear seat out now. There is a solid panel there. You can see through way down by the bottom, but that's it

Interesting. I'll have to study mine again. I have a '21 and pretty sure I could put my hand on the back of the seats below the metal compartment where the top stows.

That bottom gap, also there with seat in, is perfect for Sub sound transmission I am shocked on how well trunk JL sub transmits to cabin even with top down.

Depending on how that panel is attached it may be possible to replace with some ultra high strength cross members....

Which JL sub do you have? I'm installing 1 JL Audio 12W3v3-4 in a ported box

Have any 2-3" holes in the bottom of that mounting panel under amps and spacers between amps and panel, for convection flow? It's easy and fast, and hugely beneficial, especially if get some holes elsewhere on the mounting panel for lots of air flow. Also cuts weight a fraction

It's a good question I have a chance to buy new Ford Performance coupe rear seat delete for $350 to my door contemplating spending another 200 to get it adjusted for vert with some lower back holes for sub air to pass through easily

I figured out what I'm gonna do. I'm going to buy a rear seat delete from CM Components. I'm gonna buy 2 JL Audio 10w6 trim pieces and grills, cut two holes in the upright piece of the rear delete piece, and mount the two trim pieces and grills there. It will look like there are two subs there, but in actually, they will only be acting as air holes for the sub sound from my sub in the truck to pass through. It's gonna look kick ass with the top down.

did you look at the one someone posted from Schrader? it has a removable panel on the bottom.

Yes, I saw that too. I just have crossovers and such between the back of my sub box and the back of the rear seat that would be seen if I removed the panel.

I totally forgot about the substantial road noise l that transmitted when I had lateral cushion seam spacers, even after I sound deadened my entire trunk to take the edge off. Took the spacers out. Added Kenwood XR1000 instead.

Thought about putting subs in the seat delete back though....could look impressive especially if massive ones haha.

Cushion seems spaces? Are they spaces that are put between the bottom of the upright and the rear of the horizontal part of the seat?
