What mechanic/DIY diagnostic car repair guide do you use ? Are there any that don’t cost thousands a year like AllData ?

I know that mechanic shops have diagnostic software that gives them access to OEM manuals, torque specs, diagrams, and things like that. I wanted to know if there's anything free or very affordable that a do-it-yourself type of person could get without paying the hefty prices

Also there are some sites with free pdf manuals. Regarding diagnostics - Forscan works pretty good

I enjoy diagnosing my own issues as well. I'm always on the hunt for different diagnostic tools and manuals!

For OBDII-related things, here's the list of things I have used: OBDLink MX+, their free app called "OBDLink", the ForScan Android app, and the motorcraft website for all detailed operation & theory on OBDII codes for the Mustang. If you want to dive even deeper into Forscan, the Windows application running on a laptop has way more functionality.

For mechanical and/or electrical related things, as stated above, you can purchase a manual from a website (which is what I did), or make your own PDFs from the motorcraft website (what I will eventually do just for curiosity sake).
