Hi All
Is it possible to remove the chrome window trim on the Bullitt ?.
I want to wrap the trim in gloss black but it’s not a clean job when attached to the car.

can I remove these and then reinstall?. Didn’t know if it’s glued on or if it has clips.

thanks

I met a guy with a DHG Bullitt a couple of weeks ago and he had his window trim wrapped in gloss black. It looked good, but I didn’t ask him if they removed it to apply the wrap and then reinstalled It.

yeh I saw it too recently and it looked great.
I’ve tried it a couple of times before and I can’t get it look right.
Would be great to remove the trim so I can get the wrap all the way round and behind the trim.

How about going to a pick and pull junkyard and locating a GT that you can pull the trim off of to see if it can be done without damaging anything before you attempt it on yours? The only other option would be to order new trim, wrap it and then install it

Yeh
It’s an option.
I know the door trim should come off. But I have my doubts about the rear quarter trim as I think it’s glued to the window.

What exhaust you got ?.
I’m on the fence whether to pull the trigger for the Borla Stype catback.

tried the resonator delete but didn’t like the sound.

I’ve got Ultimate Headers LTHs, Steeda X-pipe and Steeda axle back.

FWIW, I recently researched the topic of window trim (rubberized). Some references follow. From my looks, it is fastened to the panel with screws/bolts. If it involves the rear quarter and a hard top, the entire assembly (window and all) is one piece.

A detailer, someone good at PPF and wraps, might be able to install a wrap without removing anything. I would wonder about how it would adhere to the metal and a surface other than paint or clear coat. Questions to the installer.

So, I'm going to defer on this one to @LevittownFordParts . Using your VIN, they will work with you to confirm the correct part and make it available to you.

There are "belt", "weatherstrip", "trim" items available for the rear quarters. For convertibles. See the attached links. These small strips attach to the inside of the quarter panels.

But I believe you're going to want a similar item for a hard top. In that case, see this link. The eBay link has photos of the assembly.

You might be looking at purchasing an entire window, weatherstripping attached, all as one unit. From my initial searching, it seems for hard tops, your only option is to buy a window unit. That's how they are built and sold.

Thanks! Please post a sound clip once you get it installed.
Have you noticed something strange with you Bullitt ?.
others have noted it as well.

imagine cruising at 60 in any gear say 4th or 5th.
You let go of the gas and slowly tap it on again.
Do you notice a slight surge or hesitation?.

OP I think the brushed aluminum window trim on the Bullitt was the same trim used on the Premium Ecoboost Pony Package from 2015-2018. I am not sure if it can be taken off easily but I think it is a really nice touch to the Pony Packs and Bullitts. I would leave it unwrapped, but if you really want it covered up sadly I think it will be easier to try to wrap it on the car rather than trying to take it off. Good luck!
