You think this might do it?

I would be concerned that a close mesh like that may clog too easily when hit with the dirty water or mud off the road. Something like flyscreen mesh may be better. Something that you can visually determine whether it is obstructed.

T/L you are really asking for trouble with the air filter hanging that low and exposed to the elements. You can have your cake and eat it too. but you have to have some sort of baffle to protect the air filter. Even rain water can shut you down. Don't roll the dice for a little noise. And I believe you mean Fender not finder, just saying.

Yeah that’s something that I am really worried about and thank you I didn’t notice I spelled it wrong

Seems like a much better place for brake ducts.

Im not a fan of a fender well intake. I bought a used E36 M3 with a cold air intake in the fender. Changed out the filter after I got it and it was 50% clogged. I think the previous owner never cleaned it or had an off-road adventure.

I had a MazdaSpeed 6 back in the day with a fender CAI. A flash flood caught me and with a few inches of water on a highway I hydrolocked it. Large trucks pushed wakes of water and effectively tripled the depth, and there was nothing I could do. Every vane in the turbo was bent as were most valves. I wouldn’t risk it unless you’re in a place with minimal rain.

Good god yeah idk I live where it does rain sometimes and once in a while, there are heavy rain and I do have other cars to take me somewhere if I need to, but I don’t know if it’s really worth it now

I swear to <insert_deity> one second it was cloudy and the next was the worst rain I’ve ever been in. A 2 lane highway turned into a river and when the car died the wake from 18 wheelers started to float the car like a bobber. Crazy.

I agree. FWIW, Harleys are often fitted with open conical filter elements and socks that are made specifically to exclude water when in the rain are available. Just Google "Air filter rain sock." You may be able to find one the right size.
