I believe they asserted that the Integra came with certain refinements that made it better for everyday driving that the Civic lacked. How those are worth $5K but the potential of the M2 and Mustang weren't worth it we'll never know because now magazines use influencer math.
I test drove an M2 manual few weeks back. All I can say is... Booooring!
Got back in my Mach 1 , started her up and smiled so big!
DH is the only S650 I would consider looks wise but the price is way over what it's worth.
And the Integra should not even be in this car comparison.

The markups can be brutal. I went with an Integra over an Si because it was discounted slightly to MSRP, whereas every Si had a $4-5k markup. So really really have to shop around. I assume the Type S won’t be marked up forever, honestly
Back in 2017 I was waiting for the new Si to come out because it was high on my list for new cars in that price range. Finally saw the finished product and I realized I could get an Ecoboost Premium PP for that price so I never looked back. It was clearly a much better car for the price point from my perspective. So, this is a different category but I'm having a hard time seeing anybody shopping in the Dark Horse/M2 sports car price range driving an Integra and thanking their stars for all that money they just saved.

I'd rather have a Golf R than that Integra.

Agree on all points, wish they didn't do that funky bumper blackout nonsense on the DH. In my opinion, BMW peaked with the E36 M3 but if I had to get one now the M2 is probably the closest to what their cars were meant to be.

GTI's are another car that's an absolute blast to drive. They can definitely hit way above thier weight class!
My 2020 GTI is my errand car. I absolutely love it 🤙 such a fun little hatch. I keep wanting to get a Stage 1 tune, but I'm not really wanting to upgrade the clutch and potentially deal with a water pump issue. I still have a full warranty till '28 as well, and it's honestly just perfect in stock form.

Or a Corolla GR maybe?
That too. Either are much more "Performance" than the Acura and have all of the daily driver comforts as the Acura.

hahah Funky bumper? I guess each to his own BUT have you looked at the M2 bumper? Not to mention the exhaust. :giggle: :puke:

I know, I try to fool myself. I was only comparing S550 to S650. This M2 is an improvement over the last one. Besides, they peaked at E36, nothing has looked as good since.

These looked great! But I still had major beef with the fart sounding exhaust. For sure Exhaust sound is not BMW strong suit, they got to learn from AMG(V8) 😑
