I also just had to do the same because of medical issues. It’s certainly not an easy choice, but, the way I viewed it, I was doing some damage to the car by letting it just sit and looking pretty. So after weeks and weeks and some Doctors appointments I decided to do the same.
My car was a 23’ with same options as yours, less HP Package. I had all the Steeda suspension upgrades to make it as close, if not as good as an HP. I also had HRE wheels and Michelin PS4 A/S on it along with the factory wheels and tires with 200 miles on them. My car was also ceramic coated and PPF in the front.
I sold my car for $54k. I feel I could have gotten more for it, but while looking at all the M1’s for sale and using multiple sites to get prices from, I figured the extra $2k +/- was worth letting it go.
I traded it in to the Lexus Dealer. They initially offered me $49k; I said absolutely not. I had already made a deal on my new car before mentioning the trade so I knew what I was truly getting both for the M1 and paying for the Lexus.
After a day of going back & forth and multiple offers, they finally agreed to my asking price.
They sold the car for $56k, I believe.
I did not give the Dealer any of the extra parts, cover, buyers kit or anything. I left a note in the car with my contact info so whomever bought could at least get the buyers kit and stock parts. I was afraid the Dealer would toss them or sell them or who knows what. The Dealer ended up giving my number to a few potential buyers and I spoke to them all at length. None of them were willing to pay $56k and the Dealer wouldn’t go lower. So the person who ended up buying it looked at the M1 Registry and contacted me.
I spoke with him for a few days before he purchased it and I met him at the Dealer when he was going to take delivery to answer any questions and show him anything needed. The Dealer put the car on a lift so he could see and verify all the parts I installed.
He came over to my house a couple days after purchase and I gave him the stock parts removed, the Owner Kit and paperwork for the car. I also sold him miscellaneous extras I had for the car that I had not installed or decided I wasn’t going to use.
I think he got a very fair price on the car and in reality, if I had sold myself, I wouldn’t have taken less than $57k. With trading it in I got the tax credit, so that saved me a couple grand, so I was okay with that, plus I returned my extended warranty that came with the car when I purchased it (at $1k under invoice) and received all but maybe $300 from what I originally paid.
I would think your car is worth, depending on the buyer, either $56-$60k, again, depending on the buyer. Some people want the factory HP Package and some will want it and still do the same mods I did. Some will buy the non HP car as I did and do the same or similar mods. I personally wanted an HP car but when I placed my order the day the order banks opened, the HP package was not an available option, nor was the in car WiFi.
Based off of what you have told us about your car, I would say that it’s worth what my car sold for, or close in either direction. With you selling yours privately you are able to leave the tint on, where mine had to be removed, so, if you went Xpel Ceramic there is another $600 or more the new buyer won’t have to spend. Also, they know they are getting the cover, owner kit, etc with it, where the buyer of mine was buying without knowing he was getting all of that.
My head is all over the place, and I apologize for that, I’m trying to make sense.
Anyway, as I said, if you can get what mine sold for, I would be happy being that it’s a 22.
Hope this all makes sense.
