In the past when I had VCT issues, it was either the solenoid itself, or the wiring going to the solenoid. The electrical connectors at the vct solenoids are famous weak points in the 350. Check the wiring to make sure all of the pins are fully in place on the harness side of the connector. They’ve been known to slip out. If you don’t see anything amiss, datalong and move the wires around to see if you can illicit a change in readings. Fords fix for the bad wiring and harness is to switch out to a much heavier wiring pigtail. I’m sure if you search the forum you’ll find the part number. I seem to remember it was pretty cheap (although mine were all done under warranty.). If I remember correctly, before @honeybadger ditched his VCT system, he used to carry a spare wiring harness in his race trailer because he had the wiring issue several times.![]()
Does anyone have any idea why my VCT on the intake bank2 is operating like this? It does not seem to hurt the performance and I changed out at VCT and still the same reading.
