Yeah Brian it was, just like the Bullitt. Both were glorified GT's but they were special.

That said, Ford is selling the DH as a regular model one step above a GT. Once production catches up to orders the ADM's will fall away as will, most likely, MSRP.
Like I said before, agree to disagree. I wouldn’t hold my breath. But, hey, I’ve been wrong many times in my life so if someone feels so inclined they can save my responses and post an ā€œI told you soā€ thread if/when that time comes.

Every V8 Mustang starts out as a glorified GT.

I agree with you 100%. Every Shelby is just a Mustang too. I can make a GT that will crush a Shelby. It’s all the same to me.

That's a tad bit unfair to the Mach. The bullit was a LITERAL glorified GT, it had a manifold/tb and a cold air.
The Machs are way more special/capable.

Tell me you've never driven a Shelby without telling me you've never driven a Shelby
I have. But don’t tell me that I can’t make a car that’s faster than a Shelby out of a GT because I can. Just because you paid extra for a name doesn’t mean your car is better.

I love the Mach 1, and nearly bought one until I decided to go for the Shelby. Both highly capable cars. So I’d anyone thinks I’m throwing shade at them is mistaken. I just think the Dark Horse is going to be a little more limited in production and therefore not going to see any significant decrease in MSRP. But, time will tell.

This is the dumbest argument ever used by anyone. With money you can make any car faster than any other car…doesn’t make it a better car. Not everyone lives their life a quarter mile at a time Dom.

Agreed but they both considered specialty car as they were a limited run.

A faster car does not make it a better car. A Hellcat is faster than a GT350 but that doesn’t make it better. Of course you can make a faster GT but so what. All you have is a faster GT. It will never be a Shelby. It is what it is.

OK, I’m done with this argument as well. Agreed a faster car is not a better car but there’s a lot more that goes into it than speed. There are a lot more parts to put on that can outshine other cars. This started off with the POS Darkhorse.

I wouldn’t call it a POS, but that’s just me. It just posted a 3.7 0-60 which is the same as a base GT500 and it’s holding its own in the figure 8 as well. Throw a whipple on a DH and you’re likely running neck and neck with the GT500 in all aspects assuming it’s suspension and aero are similar.

I saw that too on the Internet. How in Gods name can a 500 hp car be pulling the same time as a 760 hp supercharged car. If it’s true so be it but I’d sure like to drive one a find out.

Traction. The GT500 blows its own tires off at that HP. The cup2 tires on the CFTP fare better in 0-60 but only a true drag radial or slick can get that car into the 2s

Well then, with that statement then maybe it’s worth $93,000 to hit that time with less horsepower. Who knows. Let’s see how many pay it.
