If you don't mind and have the time, could you please check the Spoiler and Gurney Flap Engineering Part numbers for a '21 with Handling Pack?

Just picked a random used one from the internet https://www.lapinmotorco.com/invent...edium=referral&utm_campaign=cargurus_listings

Last 8 digits of the VIN are 6M555288
Yea no problem. Gimme a couple mins to get thru my morning stuff at work and I’ll get it over to you. Most likely what will change might be the prefix

I guess I'm confused now. Mine is a '22 and according to all I have spoke to the FP spolier will fit all three model years right into the same holes. I am assuming they only change the prefix because it is a new model year but the spoiler is identical.

That's how I understand it, too. I'm just asking for the '21 engineering part numbers in case the Ford order system requires it. No idea. I'll find out once I go to my dealership to pick up my fender lips.

They are identical. I have absolutely no idea why they change that prefix sometimes.

What a mess.

So my dealer (parts department) typed in the engineering part number, which then got linked to the service part number, which then showed only the gloss black as an option. They also tried by VIN (from a random Handling Package vehicle), which then led to a California Special spoiler in their system.

What they recommended was that I order through their website and use the VIN from a Handling Package vehicle.

How that would lead to a different result, I don't know. Maybe it goes directly to Ford? Does anybody know?

I felt bad I was monopolizing the only parts guy for well over 20 mins while a line was forming behind me so I just left and forgot to ask whether my order through their website would go straight to Ford.

The problem is I don't want to just "test it out" to see if I get gloss black or the Mach 1 correct color, as it would be a non-returnable special order.

Not sure what to do at this point. Maybe go to a different dealer to get a "second opinion"?

I'd feel the exact same way in your shoes. First try a different dealer, although feel like you are likely to get the same answer. Keep us posted and good luck.

If you are looking for just the factory Gurney flap here is one listed on EBay.

@RobZ71LM7 from my other thread said this has been beaten to death since 2021 and no you cannot order the spoiler or flap in magnetic from Ford. It all comes in gloss black. Unless it comes directly from the factory on the car. I’ve relegated myself to this and I’m just going to get it in gloss black and have my trusted body shop guy paint it and install it.

I will look into this for you. From what it sounds like - it *might* be a user and/or catalog error on the parts end. the part number does not show up as a paint to match part in ford’s catalog - which it should if it arrived and required painting.

I’ll check with my superior and see if I can setup a direct ship from my store to you. Cuz honestly I find that ridiculous and extremely frustrating even from an outside perspective
