So I ran a 10.97 @ 131.77 with a 1.80 60' with 732 RWHP from a whipple 3.0 on 93 octane with a stock 10R80 and stock suspension. With my HP numbers I think I should be getting a better time. What should be my next mod? Torque converter or suspension upgrades?

What wheels and tires are you running? The 60' needs a lot of improvement and your 1/8 mile time is costing you. You need better traction. I cut a 1.65 60' and ran 7.0x 1/8 mile in front of a 10.99 pass on stock 10r80.

Suspension mods: BMR CB010 and CB762.
Skinny front tires and bias ply rear tire.

Also, what was the DA during your run?

I am running skinny front tires with a 305 drag radial in the rear.

Thanks for the advice on the suspension.

The DA was at 5,000 feet. (That is actually very good in my area of Texas)

My car is also tuned to always start off in 2nd gear. I don't know if that is hurting me or not.

Hi Martin -

Let me put you in contact with Scott - our resident drag racer & driver of the Silver Bullet. He is well versed in our drag program & will be able to provide you with some great insight in regards to the torque converter, suspension components you may need, or making small adjustments.

I will shoot you a PM.

You need a 1st gear leave or way more power
That is what I was thinking as well. I talked to my tuner and that is what we are going to do next. With 1,004 whp 2nd gear starts were fine but now that I took it off of E85 and dropped the boost I guess it needs 1st gear.

I had them at 20 PSI so I will try that. Thanks!
Did you happen to look at your rear tires after your run? You should be able to see a faint line where they made contact versus not. If you are having any noticable traction issues, lower pressure until the entire tire tread is making full contact.

I ended up dropping my bias ply tires from 16lbs cold to 14.5 to hook up (26" tal tire though). A 28" radial would likely be a bit higher like previously suggested at 16lb.

I did not. That's a good tip. I will look at that on my next run. Thanks!

Update. Tuned the car to take 1st gear again. Made a big difference. Ordered some IRS braces. What would be a good shock to order while still keeping it smooth for daily driving?

You need a converter. You need more RPM on the leave now. Car dead hooks and leaves straight. Don't change anything in the suspension until your tires can no longer hold. No IRS lock out or braces needed. Stock shocks work great. A converter will instantly drop 2-4 10ths off your ET.

@tj@steeda, would it be possible for you or your drag race department to create a a drag race thread on how to setup cars with the 10R80 trans, as well as the MT82-D4, in NA form and with power adders?

It sure would be very helpful to have some good data or reference points to start from, especially for those of us who have invested considerably in Steeda parts to help us run as quick and as fast as our setups will allow. Together, we could grow that thread with some good dialogue.

I personally have just about every suspension part that you guys offer on my 2019 Bullitt such as:

- Subframe braces
- Diff. bushing kit with through bolt kit
- Subframe bushing supports
- Hardcore diff. bracket
- Subframe alignment kit
- Adj. rear camber arms
- Adj. toe links
- Vertical links
- 1 piece driveshaft
- Ford Performance half shafts
- Tri-ax Race shifter
- Adj. motor mounts
- Ultra Spec Viking Inverted double adjustable rear shocks
- 17X10 beadlock drag wheels with 305/45/17 MT ET Street Radials and 18X5 front runner with MT radials

Any help that Steeda can provide in these areas woukd be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
