I’ll be there doing this eventually. I was at a very well known performance shop a couple of days ago and the owner (a former S550 Mustang owner/drag racer told me to replace the stock clutch with a stock clutch (even if drag racing), when mine goes to help the tranny live a long life. He also said he’s installed Calimer transmissions in S550 cars and thinks they’re very good. He actually recommended that over a T-56 Magnum because in his opinion they were heavy. Either way, I suppose I should start planning for a clutch replacement, so thatI’ll be ready when the time comes.

To run in the 10’s with my MT82-D4 is also my goal. I’ll be attempting to do it on a 150 hp shot of nitrous. I just Dyno’d at 639 rwhp and 602 rwtq (based on calculations using hp and rpm). I hope I can get it done.

:crazy: I do that everytime I go to the track.....and it always ends up with the car coming apart 😅

I feel for ya my man. I used to drag race a SRT-4. Went thru a clutch about every other year. And broke the intermediate shaft in the transmission.

I feel for ya my man. I used to drag race a SRT-4. Went thru a clutch about every other year. And broke the intermediate shaft in the transmission.
It's all just part of the game. After asking a lot from two stock MT-82 I cant really complain to much. TH400 inbound to find the other weak items...😬

How much is doing a th400 swap?
JPC complete swap kits start at $6k. I've seen a lot of people not happy with the Transmission Specialties TH400 though so I will be doing the completion kit and picking up trans and converter separately.
