Hi Guys
i own a mustang 2017 50 GT, I’m not sure if this is the correct thread?
Can one of you tell me if it’s a 50 or 550 or what ? I’m confused with what it’s called 😳
i purchased it new in April 2017, it’s now out of the dealer service program, and has until now had the full service from them.
I would like to do the services myself and a not shy to dirty my hands, please can you tell me what you think is needed for a 5 year service ?
It was serviced last year by the dealer and has covered 3000km since then, the total mileage is now at 35500km

they have furnished me with a quote that is just shy of replacing the vehicle ….my thinking is it’s a basic tank and should not require a number of things they recommend?

here it is in the pic. I machined the GT badge myself from billet and then ceramic coated it, I was unhappy with the plastic coaster one would find on a coffee table on its rear but it’s the 50 coyote motor

The codename of 2015-2023 Mustangs aka 6th generation Mustang is "S550". 5 oh, 5.0, as you say is a 5.0 Liter V8 Engine/Motor codenamed Coyote. Thats included in all GT trim mustangs from 2015-2023.
2015-2017 Mustang GT include the generation 2 coyote motor.

Based on the owners manual, at approx ~20K miles, you should change oil, cabin air filter, check for cracks or leaks at various points. at 30K miles you should change the engine air filter, but since I assume you're diligent, you can do that now as well. https://cdn.dealereprocess.org/cdn/servicemanuals/ford/2017-mustang.pdf

Is that a Hughes 300C hovering behind your pic? Or renamed to MD something or other?

It’s 300c on the trailer it had just been brought back from a timex rebuild, trailering is cheaper than flying 😬

I’d like to see more of this body color decklid if you don’t mind sharing some more pictures of the back of your car. That’s unique, looks good.
The car is race red, I removed the plastic GT badge, filled the holes primed it and then Wrapped it in Avery lipstick red wrap, the badge I machined out of billet and ceramic coated black
my first attempt was a black decal but it added no depth like it IMO the black panel on the rear did not look great and a bit cheap

Thought so, cool. Do you work around, or on helicopters? I worked at Hughes in the early '80's at their main plant by Marina Del Ray, military 500 MD's actually. Very cool job, especially the flight line where they test flew each and every helicopter built. The Army test pilots really wrung these babies out, pushed the limits of what a helicopter could do. Best job I ever had, beyond cool. The main assembly line is where they built the "Spruce Goose", was the largest wood structure ever built (the hangar, not the plane). Anyhow nice car, Race Red is the best!

yes you can say I work in the industry I’m a pilot / instructor I really enjoy the 269/300 …that said one of my favourite heli‘s is the “little bird” MD 500 / 600 in the right hands we say they are the Ferrari of the sky you need to be on your toes with them during autorotation with the narrow blades they are not a jetranger but super fun

Should he order a Chilton’s or Haynes manual?

Or go all the way to the factory service manual?

Or both? (I have both kinds of manuals for my Nissans.)
