Hello; Some possibilities include they came to their senses and now understand the issue better. They all have put us on ignore and have retreated to a safe space. They took the most recent Covid shot and are sick for a few days as I was after the second shot. They are living entirely without electricity in order to save the planet.

Truth is I only suspect one of the above to have any chance of being valid. But in truth i do not know what happened.
None of these. We all died from covid vaccine (kill swithc ! Demar Hamlin also is dead - not sure if you heard that) and got electrocuted driving our EVs at the same time. So it's kinda hard to post when you're dead.

In reality, there isn't really much to discuss when posts are "Hello, (another clickbait article with vague data" ). You've been really quiet on the "EVs are more expensive" article from that consulting group - article you've never bothered to actually read.

Hello; If you refer to the one about an ICE being cheaper to fuel for 100 miles, I replied a few times. Likely i had a different take than you favor. Think i even went to the embedded article within the link.
EDIT - A theme is become common among you guys. In your case it is accusing me of not reading a link so to imply I am being disingenuous. Other champions try to imply I and others are too dumb to understand things. Such boils down to a way to discredit our comments. That way our valid points can thru "language magic" be dismissed. I guess in hopes those following the topic will not consider our comments.

How Much Does It Cost To Charge an Electric Car? (msn.com)
Hello; This article seems more comprehensive than most. Has a paragraph explaining how to calculate home charging cost of an EV. Might be good to know.

Has a paragraph comparing overall cost to run an EV vs. a ICE. In this comparison the EV wins on a "full" tank basis by about $4.

I Am ‘Not Part of the Problem’: Billionaire Bill Gates Defends Using Private Jet as Climate Activist (msn.com)

Hello; Gotta love this one. I even get the concept. If I can buy enough carbon credits so they amount to more than the actual carbon i cause, then everything is peachy. I am troubled just a little about those actual carbon emissions, however.
Seems that real emissions from a jet engine do add real carbon to the air. I used to include a lesion in my classes about a school bus vs. individual cars bringing kids to school. The idea is while a 65 passenger bus uses more fuel than any individual car, it carries so many more students in one trip. The multiple number of cars needed to haul that many students will burn a great deal more fuel in total.

Thing is I get why a private jet is nicer to ride in than a commercial jet. You might wind up next to someone like me. (a joke as i do not fly.) A lot of kids did not like riding the school bus I drove for similar types of reasons. There was a young lady who rode my bus one year who avoided bathtubs. Even on cold mornings as she got on the bus and as she proceeded walk down the aisle I could hear the windows coming down by the other students . I had a window open by the drivers seat and a fan blowing. I eventually talked to one of the female teachers about it and things got better.

I know this is a weird thought. Say someone who buys carbon credits and has a private jet also parked the jet. That ought to make the carbon thing even better off????

Yes, environmentalists want to take your car away — just slowly (msn.com)

Hello; Guess this article is part opinion and part basic facts. The part which got my attention came near the end and is likely more in the opinion category for now. I must admit to having similar thoughts about the "idealized" future as it appears to come from some "save the planet" types.
That future is what i have called a "do without" future where we each have less personal energy and restricted transportation options. No fossil fueled vehicles to be sure. That goal is very clear. Also no meat/milk is also clear.

The limiting factor for EV's according to the article is the amount of lithium known/estimated to exist. just not enough around to make all the batteries which will be needed.

I am not yet ready to embrace nuclear energy. I understand the carbon free part of that plan well enough. Were it not for the dire consequence of a failure of most any sort nuclear might be viable. We all have seen in the last year the fears from having a war around nuclear reactors in Ukraine. Not sure we yet know if any radioactive material was released, but there was actual fighting around the reactors.
I guess if in my country a final solution was ever found about spent nuclear fuel, I could be more comfortable. But I have grown old waiting for such a solution. I was alive during atmospheric testing in the 1950's so got my share of that. But decade after decade some final plan to deal with the hot spent fuel is postponed.
I also get that many embrace the use of nuclear and that some sites have run for decades without a serious problem.

I saw an article yesterday where they (kook scientists) want to blast the moon. They say this will cause dust to block sunlight and cool the Earth.

What can go wrong.

I put things like this in the "here, hold my beer and watch this" category.
Hello; Have not seen that particular one yet, so thanks for the heads up. A number of things can go very wrong. I hear about other such plans from time to time that fit in the "here, hold my beer and watch this" category. Often the flaws are in an assumption the desired effect will be only the one desired.
The notion of using something to block the sun on a planet wide basis better have an off switch or at the very least able to be adjusted. Better not be permanent. My guess is a lot of folks are not old enough to recall the really bad winters of the 50's 60's and 70's. Or the blizzard of 93. Back this last Christmas we had a taste of that sort of winter weather.

Building a dome over the "heat islands" big cities have become might be a better way to go if it could be engineered and affordable. Another "here, hold my beer and watch this" pipe dream however.

I remember them. I remember one Halloween when we got 29 inches of snow.

I also remember seeing the town temp sign reading -20 many times.

Not sure I understand this.

I do hope I'm long gone before we try something as lame brained as this. I do wonder what kind of life my grand and great grand kids will have.

One thing science has proved is the Earth warms and cools naturally.

Everyone who dies must have died from covid vaccine. Really sick. Last to put out a statement was Cody Longo's family. Instead of grieving they have to deal with idiotic conspiracy theorists.

You nailed it...

They are sad. Lonely guy sitting in a basement steadily posting. He should put some 24's on his Nissan Sentra and enter it into some car shows are something.

Hello; One is still around.
Goodbye; some of us have jobs. You know, the thing you had before you got fired... then blamed it on the students since the majority of them failed your class. Principle was against you... teachers... parents. Yup, everyone's fault but yours. Everyone is against you. Same theme in this thread.

And some of us have a life... this forum is good fun... not exactly a social center.

Hello; Afraid your rants make less and less sense. Lots of incoherent personal attacks with made up falsehoods. You lie again about me.

Perfect example, I love F1 and Lewis Hamilton is a proponent of green ideals. But yet he has a vast collection of very fast cars, a few private jets, has multiple homes all over the world, and he participates in a sport where no matter how you cut it uses more fuel in 1 weekend then majority of the earth’s population uses in a year.
So I post some hard facts, about the energy consumption of those pushing the green agenda and the thread has died.🤣
Hard facts ehh?

Lewis Hamilton has sold his (single) private jet

His car collection mostly sits in storage

F1 is making huge strides in the development of sustainable fuels (to benefit everyone) and has made huge reductions in fuel usage at events and between events. It is also public about this so it is easy to find.

Formula 1 committed to ‘delivering positive lasting change’ on sustainability and diversity and inclusion, says Domenicali | Formula 1®

Hard facts ehh - where is your source - come on post those links.....

The 'green agenda' as you like to call it doesn't mean returning to the stone age, it means using science and intelligence to reduce the damaging effects whilst maintaining what we do day to day.

Things like LNG powered ships are significantly reducing emissions - you seem to get all excited about cruise ships well LNG power is making a big difference there. Small steps that add up to big numbers - not just a blanket ban on all cruise ships :cwl:
