Link? Did some quick googling, couldn't find it.
Sorry…. Read this while driving and I think I responded to the wrong question. They used to list on the website different packages and different HP expectations. Also, if you watch a fair amount of their videos, right around when they did builds of the 2019’s they talk about the differences in the engines and the additional horsepower they’re able to milk out of the gen 2.

if I remember, I’ll dig around when I free up and post a link.

Oh the improvements to the gen 2 are impressive. It’s really cool that this one can now handle boost. I find myself now wanting to get a 19 gt350. But I’d be just as happy with a gt 500. But right now I’ll have to settle for a boosted gen 3 coyote. I’m just as fast without the $$$ and I’m missing the cobra… man do I really want one.

If you want to fast in a straight line, I recommend a motorcycle…. It’ll save you gobs of cash!!

If you want the ability to go fast while also turning the steering wheel (I know, I know, it actually requires some skill so it may not be your thing), I highly recommend getting one of those cars with a cobra on it, or perhaps a Mach 1. That’s what those cars were made for.

In all seriousness, it’s impossible to quantify the risk in this engine. The closest you’ll get is what the ford ESP costs imply. If I can buy a 5/60k drivetrain warranty for 2k, the implied probability of failure is not significantly higher than say a coyote. Gotta trust the actuaries I suppose.

Consider for a moment that 5y/60k is the factory drivetrain warranty, so the 5y/60k through ESP is more about the bumper to bumper. The ESP quoted mileage/time starts at the date of original purchase. Look at what the actuaries have to say about a higher miles.

Sure, my quote was also for a 2017 gen 1 with 15k miles. I’m just saying that if the probability of engine failure is as high as what forums show within first 10k miles, then the extended esp would still be higher.

2020 daily driver and have about 20K miles on it now. I just get in it and go. I keep it outside in my driveway with my other cars. I don't track it, but get on it on the on ramp every once in a while. It serves as my commuter and errand runner. It doesn't burn/use oil. As a side note, I put both driver and passenger side catch cans and drain them every oil change, so far (really just the passenger side...the driver side has been clean ever since), it's been less than 150mL from the last three oil changes.

Maybe true (more robust) for forced induction, but not necessarily high RPM. My guess is their customers are likely short shifting the engine, I know I would !
My understanding is they turn the redline down for every single car they tune for reliability sake. Is that true @Trevor@FatFab ?
Agree with the high RPM comment.
A friend of mine who runs a ford service department in Indy that has a working relationship with fathouse told me about it. After I pinged fathouse yesterday, I can see from their history that they read the thread but chose not to respond. Since they won’t confirm or deny, I suppose it’d be easy enough to ask any of the fathouse tuned guys on forum where they tach out at.

Maybe fathouse doesn’t want to give away the ”secret” to their reliability success….. orrrrr my guy at Ford who knows them and Johnson tuning well was just making it all up :)
I know some of these will be glory runs and there is the odd exception, but there is defo a trend to when they shut them down :

All the above are for 350's and they should be listed in order. Hopefully the filenames have carried through for anyone that wants to download them :like:

It would be interesting to know from the owners what they actually shift at and what they were advised when they took delivery.

Hope that helps ?

As a Chad GT350 enjoyer, who gives a shit if the engine blows up. Every mile is a big smile. Just replace it if you need to and keep having fun.
I agree, except for the replace it part. They don't make them anymore!

They have to make parts for a certain amount of time, even if they aren't making longblocks I don't know why they wouldn't still be making shortblocks at least. I dunno though, I haven't looked into it.

With that said even if you beat on them on the street like a true ape, they still won't sweat it. It really seems like there's two modes of failure. Coming apart in spectacular fashion on track, or some sort of valve train issue in the first few thousand miles. The former isn't even really a huge knock (ha) against the motor. Plenty of engines will succumb to regular track use, it's just the nature of the beast.

I suppose you can also get oil consumption, but unless it's miserably bad, it doesn't really hurt anything. Just top off periodically and let her scream.

Before I bought my 20 Gt350, I had a 2018 gen3 Coyote. My 5.0 engine also had the 2-3k noise and the typewriter tick at idle. Ford said it's normal and I haven't heard or seen yet conclusive evidence this is a long term problem with the Coyote.

Update: My Gt350 has 7500 miles and doesn't burn oil. I do have a driver side FP air/oil seperator, that collects some (not a lot) oil after 2k miles. I don't track the car and let it warm to 180 before crossing 3k rpm. Using motorcraft oil.

Who gives a fuck.... mine drinks more oil than gas and i still beat the crap out of it.
If it blows up i'll stick a coyote in this SOB and call it a day.
