Recommendation: Best Street Tires?

I'm going to replace my Firestone Firehawks due to I want more controllable grip on the street. I run 285/35/19 front, 325/30/19 rear. Nice looking tires but they just slip to much when driving on street. I only have 1200 miles on them so probably just give someone a great deal on them when I sell them.

Depends on the style you want and what your budget is. I personally just got a set of the Michelin Pilot All Season 4 for mine. They are a UHP all season but are very impressive all around on the street. Very good grip in dry and wet so far, no experience in frozen stuff but have been out in cold weather (like 20 ish degrees) and they do really well. That said, they are not a cheap set of tires but I expect them to last me several years with the amount I drive.

Yeah, do you need snow and wet weather performance? Straight line grip only, or does it need to corner well?

If you need all season, the Michelin A/S 4 as noted above by Alex is the way to go. If you want summer high performance, Michelin PS4 is the best, period.

If you are on a budget, I put on a set of Yokohama ADVAN Apex V601 XL on my GT and I was very pleasantly surprised with how well they performed.

I used the Continental Extreme Contact Sports on my 2013 GT...very happy with them. I believe they rank closely to the Michelins Pilot Sport 4s with a slightly better price.

Budget is not an issue, how long they last aren't an issue. BUT: When I do take it out I want the best grip I can get. I plan to FI soon also which will make it worse and I don't want drag tires. Thank you for the help

Hi. I drive only in the warm weather, no rain, and it is stored during winter.

Excellent, then you can probably go with any of a bunch of good 200tw "extreme perforamnce summer" tires.

Falken RT660 runs up to 315/30R19 widths and is super grippy. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 is a great tire and has a 325R19. Even the tried and true Michelin MP4S is a sticker tire than the Firestones, but its not as sticky as these other two. Its the most well rounded if wet conditions and tire longevity are important to you. The Continental Extremecontact Force comes in wide 19" sizes and may be a good choice for you.

I'd take a hard look at the Falkens, Goodyear, or the Conti. The Falkens suck in standing water, so avoid wet weather or slow down. When they're hot, they're fantastic.

The Falken RT660 is an excellent choice here, they run very wide so their 275/35-19 and 315/30-19 combo will be the same or even wider than what you have now in 285/325. It's not going to last as long as the Michelin PS4S or be anywhere near as good in the rain, but sounds like that's not a concern. I don't find the RT660 to be that noisy, but it will be a little louder than the PS4S as well.

Is a drag radial an option? They handle fine on the street when pumped up to "normal" pressures and will offer even more straight line grip than anything else mentioned so far. I haven't seen any mention that you want to carve corners with these. You could run any normal street tire up front with the DR in the rear.

I was just told that Goodyear is discontinuing the Supercar 3 F1 in my front tire sizes either 285/35/19 or 295/35/19
