Sean, do you loose the memory seat option with recaros even though you have the 401A package? Just wondering.
Yessir! They're a manually adjustable shell.

Oh, please what? Give me some seats from 2014 not 2004?

RECARO breaks new ground with its Office Line, developed in cooperation with an experienced manufacturer of office chairs. The chairs are also used as round-the-clock seats in control centres and security posts.

RECARO presents the Recaro ‘Young Profi plus’ infant carrier with its patented innovation allowing it to grow with the baby.
So you lose the climate control and memory functions and gain a better overall shell for performance driving. I'll take the "dinosaur" era seats if that's the case. I've been in the stock seats for two separate test drives, and at this point I'm more than willing to sacrifice some amenities that I'll seldom use for something that's more cosseting and less squishy.

I've had memory seats in my car for the past seven years. I've used the function maybe a handful of times. Heated seats? I'm in Florida so they're hardly a requirement. Cooled seats? Might be nice for the few minutes it takes for the A/C to kick in, but I found them hardly required during my drive.

I was on the fence about Recaro vs standard premium but the choice was made for me yesterday. I am 6 foot 4, 275ish with broad shoulders. I love the seats in my BRZ, they really hold you in nicely for factory seats, so after sitting in the standard premium seats I didnt think I could live with them. Not that there is anything wrong with them in the least, they are so comfortable, heated and cooled is so nice. Really its almost insane to spend 1600 bucks to give up on all of that and power seats, but I was willing to do it. But took the girlfriend car shopping yesterday and finally found a dealer that had the premium Recaro's and was overjoyed. I loved them, they didnt fit me perfectly on the back due to having a wide back, but I loved them. Girlfriend sat down, stood right back up with the words "OH HELL NO" flying out of her mouth immediately. As a bigger guy I highly recommend trying them out first. For me they were easily livable, but gotta keep the women folk happy. On the bright side she saved me $1600 bucks.

Why they make both. Everybody has diff taste. Happy they have the option to get a race seat but not for me. I suggest sitting in both and make your own mind. The only pearson you need to make happy is you.

Good to hear that you felt comfortable in them. I am 6' 260 with broad shoulders as well. I have not sat in any Recaro's but knew I would love them regardless as I love to fit tight in my seats.

I sat in a Gt yesterday with standard seats, very comfortable and great for my size (6'6" 280lbs). Any idea how the recaros are for bigger folks?
I'm gonna order a car soon and want to make a seat decision.

Tight fit. The premium seats are exceptionally comfortable. 6-1 and 260 here. I had to pass on the Recaros

I'm 6'4", and 205lbs, have Recaro's on my 14 GT500, and Anniversary on the 15 GT. My impression, is both are comfortable, but I would NOT race or do track day with the standard Anniversary's...I BELIVE IMHO They do not have enough lateral support, where as the Recaro's do, and in reality you could use even more support. So the question is not what seat, what do you plan on doing more then put the proper seat for that.

They do, I had the dealership ask me if they could use my car as a demo for a guy who was like 6'7 to see whether he fit better in them over the standard seats. He did.

Thank you all for the help. I'm gonna order a Silver GT Premium with the 20" wheels very soon. Once I get the chance to sit in the Recaro's I will have a final seating decision. For now, I know that if I didn't get Recaro's that it would be the premium seating with Red.........but if the Recaro's fit my body frame without squeezing me I will opt for them.
I live near Philly, and it's been a bitch finding a dealer with a Recaro-equipped GT!

New to this forum but we recommend the Recaro seats to almost everyone looking to get the S550 chassis. They still have a fairly flat base and they do not have the same high side bolsters that the aftermarket Recaro seats have so they are still easy to get in and out of even for our clients who are over 6'2" and 250+. So far no one we know with a current GT500 or Boss has ever complained.

As for track seats, the OEM Recaro has options for harnesses (with aftermarket harness bars) but even then a real track seat such as the Racaro SPG or switching to Sparco or SaBelt is usually a safer option.:)
