My coworker has a stage 2 Roush mustang and he recently put an h pipe on and it's so raspy now.

Are the pipes on the M1 a larger diameter, and the muffler the same, Tone is mostly controlled by the pipe diameter 2in versa 3in.

I’m surprised there’s no love for the Roush H-Pipe! What’s the deal with that?

Maybe it is because the H pipe is a little down performance-wise. X pipe better... Just the way it is, one balances the exhaust pulse, and the other "X" flows better, flow is the same target for head performance. Keep the air moving.

All are driving a double OHC motor with 4 valves a hole. It is going to sound crispt and snaps sharply.

There seems to be a mindset that wants the car to sound like an old-school V8. That actually makes the 5.0 sound sluggish and down on power.
I don't get that.

Old-school V8 nothing wrong with that note. Have 2 cars that beat that drum pretty hard.

Interesting! I was more interested in why the Roush branded H pipe was getting no votes. So is there a significant amount of performance difference with the X pipe compared to the H pipe? It would have to be somewhat significant in order to justify the raspier tone for me.

The stock resonator and most X and H pipes are same as the GT, 2-1/4” inlet and 2-1/2” outlet. For comparison, the GT350 is 2-1/2” inlet and 2-3/4” outlet with a stock X pipe with resonators.

Pleasantly surprised to see most keeping it stock. I think this thing sounds amazing stock...track is plenty loud when you want to make your presence known! I didn't realize that until I heard myself pulling out in track on a video my mustang club did on a cruise. Quiet comes in very handy for my neighborhood too. MyMode on my car is set to sport exhaust with normal drive and normal steering.

If you hear an Audi, BMW, Chevrolet's stock exhaust, you will come to appreciate the Mach 1 stock exhaust even more. I head a Chevrolet Corvette C8's stock exhaust and it was so bland compared to the dramatic roar of the Mustang

Had the roush on my GT, has far as sound goes its no different from the steeda one. I do beleive you have to cut more off for the Steeda and the Roush one is the same one you get from Ford Performance which means you could install the replacement resonator down the road as a bolt on replacement.
Don't quote me on that has I've never seen all three of them at once.

I am very surprised at the poll results to be honest. I assumed most would go with the aftermarket options. Then again, if you lump all the aftermarket votes together it’s a dead tie at 19. 😯

Other than what's been posted earlier, I can think of a few additional factors:

- Once I get the car in my hands, I'm cooling my jets for a while. After buying the car, taxes, insurance, A/S tires and rims, PPF, oil separator, etc., I'm taking a break

- Some enjoy working on or making mods to exhaust, others on tires/suspension, some track (drag and course), appearance, audio, while others still go all-in and make mods stem to stern

Something I enjoy on any of these topics is noticing something different, sometimes the smallest thing. A subtle detail that's different (exhaust note maybe) which compliments the car overall and takes a few moments to recognize just what has changed

This was not unexpected and I knew was going to be posted. Only wondering about the who?

LMAO, first you're totally off-topic.

I will correct you it's a concept expressing a result of the different pipe diameters, with regards to sound.

X pipe still flows better resulting in better performance even if the damn pipe were 1".

Get it?

YOU asked if the Mach had different pipe sizes, and I gave the answer. So go correct someone else.

Anyone had both a '21 and '22?
Are the '22s noticeably different?
All the video reviews I've watched are 480hp '21s.
They sound great stock.

If my 470hp '22 or '23 ever gets here, will it sound different?
