So, finally got my Mustang home and in the garage for the first time ever. Of course I can't wait to start installing some of the little simple things I've purchased.
Diode Dynamics LED interior light kit can't be difficult right? I watched the CJ Pony Parts video. Map lights and glove box lights were easy as can be. Pulling down the overhead console...nope. WTF, it came off so easy in the video. Using trim tools and way too much force, I was able to get it down. The alligator metal clips destroyed the plastic tabs of the console housing they attach too.
After using some colorful language that would have made my mom blush, I was able get the alligator clips out of the spot they clip into. I then placed them back on the overhead console housing tabs. Unfortunately they don't have as much plastic to grip onto. When pushed it back up into place the console just doesn't sit nice and tight. There's no real good place for 3m tape or velcro either. I really don't want to spend $250-400 for a new overhead console. I don't know which one I need besides for a convertible. But it will drive me nuts ever type I drop the top and the hole console rocks a bit. If it rattles going down the road, out comes the duct tape!

Any help is greatly appreciated!
