Any idea where on Cota that happened? Pretty good track as far as runoff goes. I’d buy that back in a heartbeat if I was the owner, easy fix.

Pour one out. COTA

That does not look like an easy fix.

Or drive a fast car fast. Its a piece of steel, an object.

People F cars up all the time. The car is an object and if it is damaged doing what you like to do, oh well. Thats the thing about tracking, you have fun with the machine you feel connected to. This talk about buying a slow car and driving it fast is nuts. If you are afraid to take your R on the track, then I'd suggest keeping it locked up in the garage.

I had a good time driving my R today, and I had a great time the last time it was on the track. Let me see if I can find some photos.....
A video would be better, maybe I can learn something…..

Driving a fast car fast is legit if you have the skill and the means and aren’t interested in real racing.

I do respect that something like a Miata lowers the cost of consumables by half, the cost of the car by two-thirds, and lets you access popular racing series like Spec Miata. You can still get an adrenaline rush from all that.

That said, I drive a GT350, not a Miata, cause that’s what I’m into. I get a compliment on the sound every track day.

Had a shop for years. Believe it or not, even from the limited view of the photo’s, that’s only a couple days on a rack to put it all back to factory spec. Even if it needs more then a core support, ie. rails and a pillar forward.

That does not look like an easy fix.

🤣 Vicious.
Respect to BostonDMD for realizing a $100K (>100%) profit on a GT350R in two years. I’d park a car in a garage if I knew I could do that. What doesn’t make sense is buying one for a long term hold when who knows what will happen in 20-30 years. Just buy stocks.

Exactly. These cars are meant to enjoy. However you enjoy them is up to you, but the intent is to drive them to the extent that they were designed to do.

I get that people are cashing out. But I suggest that what makes these cars so rare is that many are not. People are enjoying them and are keeping them. I dont plan to sell mine and I will continue to drive these cars as they were designed to be.

LOL, you are a funny guy.......

With all due respect, unlike you, I was never into "Sunday drives" at the track with my Shelbys during a drivers education events.

When not racing I instruct with Porsche and BMW clubs.

Farewell everyone, it has been a fun and profitable experience with my HEP R!

Boxters, lol. Watching you struggle with a 944 was the best. Anyway, take care and congrats on that cash out.

Paolo, based on the attached videos which shows some daring passing, very late braking and terrific driving it was great fun to watch you work your way through the field.

I knew that you had a great deal of seat time in various makes/models of automobiles over the years but had no idea just how accomplished driver that you are.

Congratulations on the ownership experience of your HEP R which culminated with possibly a new sales price record especially for a ~3,600 mile car!

Thanks, you too.

Maybe with all that money you made, you can go out an get a real P car. Or if you are going to dabble in that kind of driving, maybe a spec miata?

I already own a 911 CS among other cars.
You should really hire a coach if you want to drive the Shelby "the way they were meant to be".....
