The used car prices we're going through, although they may be settling a bit, are a perfect opportunity to upgrade your car.

Need a little patience in terms of getting your order delivered, but you get a new model with a few upgrades for little to no money out of pocket.
What dealership is discounting from sticker?

Lets not forget new car financing at low rates ... used car financing is 2-3 times higher.

Supply and demand. It's not rocket science. No one has to buy it.

I know autonation here in Houston is. Got my new 2021 GT for almost $1900 below sticker. 2 and 3 year old ones with the same options were going anywhere between 36and 40k so I bought the brand new one and walked out at $36,400

Depends on your credit.
Doesn’t really matter. It’s still significantly higher. If you have the sort of rates that the difference isn’t meaningful you probably shouldn’t be buying something you have to finance.

Either way it is a double whammy on buying used. Not only are you paying near new prices for a several year old car, you are paying more to finance it. Oh course the risk of being upside down is stupid high. You would need to be a moron to buy at those prices.

$1,000-$1,500 off is a joke. Especially when they'll add in some "doc fees" to make most of that right back up.

I got 7K off my car.
Depends on what trim and options it has on it. A base GT may only have 2k of mark up on invoice. Volume dealers will typically sell at invoice to try and and hit the volume discount tiers which are usually really good and a very closely guarded secret.

even great credit, you cant get incentive rates.. Course these days, I suspect incentives may be off the table.
It may be a geographic thing with Ford Credit, but here you can get 0% for up to 38 months, 1.9% up to 60, 2.9% up to 72 and 3.9% for 84 (none of these apply to Mach 1/GT500), but those rates are still very attractive compared to standard used car rates of 8%

The interest rate on new vs used, financing $40,000 for either, the new car is $112 per month less. (both at 60 months)

Last summer when I was looking for a GT, I went to my dealer and they had nothing, even back then, he did tell me he had a 2017 on their other lot, for like $34K, I said that's not bad, lets pull up the window sticker to see what it has, pulled it up and he looked at me and said "you don't want it"...then pointed out new in 2017 the car was $33,xxx, and I have delt with him for years and knows I am a z plan buyer...I said "I would't have paid $34 for it 17, I definitely am not paying that now"...ended up getting my 21 a month later, and paid a lot more, but I also got a lot more on the car.

I guess I made out pretty well then, as I recently purchased a 2017 GT Premium w/black pkg, with only 3k miles (Yes, 3,000 miles) for $38k here on this forum. It was kept in a heated garage and the car is literally like brand new inside and out. Even still smells new on the inside.

..Oh and I should mention it came with about $15k in new aftermarket parts installed on the car including a Gen 5 Whipple 3.0 Stage 2, billet OPG & CGS, Al DS, Renegade half shafts, McLeod Clutch, gauges, MBRP exhaust and more.
