Send them some logs so they can fine tune it before you hit the track!
On my second revision now. Going to get a few more logs today. Shifts at WOT are intoxicating again :) Very similar to how drag mode was when stock. Second gear is ridiculous :)

I bet it is!! If itā€™s possible do a log at the strip so they can see an entire run not just some pulls they might find something they can fine tune for your passes in it.

Base tune for Wengerd is installed. Waiting for an update about next steps :) Drag strip on Friday!!!!
Iā€™m sure itā€™s a huge difference with the custom tune and adjustments to shift strategies and torque management vs the Roush calibration and intrusive torque management and minimal if any at all shift strategy. If I kept my RS3 I was going to get it tuned this spring because I really did not like how the 10R80 behaved at all.

Is anybody running this system with the mt82d4 and 4.09s? If so how is it working out? Was wanting to go with a centri , but would like warranty.

problem is now itā€™s really easy to melt the tires :) like I said. TC off is no joke! Looking forward to tomorrow!

It will be interesting to see if this more aggressive tune creates more heat and leads to heat-soak issues. Hopefully not a problem in February. Does the Wengard tune alter the IAT2 temp when the throttle body closes?

I like that dark side.

Went over to the dark side and no longer have my 19 Roush Stage 3. Picked up a 21 GT500 and looking forward to doing a true comparison between the two. I am a Roush enthusiast and will still be mixing it up with you guys in here.

No. He doesn't from what I understand. I highly doubt many (or any) tuners will alter IAT2 numbers. As for more heat, etc, we shall see.

I sent him a log of a 2nd gear pull last night and he said it looked great other than the fact that the PCM was pulling some timing because the IAT's were over 140. I wasn't surprised because the car had been driven a bunch and only had about an hour cool down before I took it out for a log.

Honestly, I don't plan on running the tune in the summer here. I will probably put the Roush tune back on just to keep myself out of trouble :)

These numbers were run on my 19 Roush Stage 3 with Phase 2 upgrade on the Roush tune. Itā€™s a 10R80 with 3.55 and Nitto 555RIIā€™s on the rear and Shell 93 in the tank.

74 degrees and +400 DA

1st run

10.78 @ 136

2nd run(25 minutes later)

10.85 @ 135

Very satisfied for the 1st time running this car on the Roush tune. It seems like the larger heat exchanger and revised calibration has not made the heat soak as bad as when they first rolled the 2650 out.

I really think the car can possibly hit 10.6ā€™s on the Roush tune.
What other mods did you have done or was it stock with just the phase 2?

Well. Had some time to log the car and get on it a bit with the new Wengerd Performance tune. Car is a totally different animal. Even with the 20" MT drag radials it breaks the tires free on the street with ease when TC is off. Not sure if it's because of the difference in torque management but I will have to modulate the throttle more on the street. Keeping TC on is advisable.

Shifts are pretty amazing again. The Roush tune killed drag mode for me. It was awesome when stock but not as impressive with the blower. Well.. Drag mode is back and it's ridiculous with a blower on the car. Hopefully the tranny can take some abuse for a while!

The strip was pretty interesting tonight. I didn't break my previous ET's by a whole lot but I am definitely traction limited with the 20" DR's. My best 60' ever was a 1.7 and I haven't been able to reach that for quite some time. Most of my 60's are 1.8 or higher so keep that in mind.

Anyway. My previous best was in January when I ran an [email protected] (a record for MPH) and a [email protected] (a record for ET and MPH). I was pretty happy that night because the temps were great and DA was pretty low for AZ.

First run tonight was after a 40 minute cooldown against a really nice guy in a snazzy looking ZL1 with headers, bigger TB, and Flex Fuel tune. He was also on street tires and keeping TC on :) My Car was in S on the shifter with TC off. Apparently S is the recommended mode for the tune. He ran an 11.52 @126.01 and I ran:
.097 (R/T)
1.907 (launched softly cause I was scared)
4.834
7.175 @ 107.18 (my best MPH in the 1/8th was around 106)
9.180
10.871 @ 134.71 (close to my best ET but beat my best MPH by 4mph)

I was pretty stoked with those numbers. Both of us hotlapped it pretty much and ran each other again about 25 minutes later. I didn't turn the car off the entire time while in the staging lanes. Car was in S on the shifter, Drag Mode, TC off. The Camaro ran an [email protected] and I ran:
.115
1.804
4.730
7.051 @ 107.78 (beat my best ET by 0.10 and a new record for MPH by far)
9.041
10.721 @ 135.41 (beat my best ET by 0.14 and got told to slow down when I picked up my slip)

I took another run about 2.5 hours later and was hoping for a way better time but I left the car in D and it smacked against the rev limiter and bogged. I do not believe it was tune related as this has happened to me numerous times.
-.026 (dammit)
1.877
5.284
7.683 @ 106.95 (even with it bogging a shift!)
9.689
11.385 @ 133.21 (still beat most cars there tonight)

The MPH was up about 5mph, just need better 60's and traction. Pretty sure with the current setup and weather I could drop it to a 10.5 or better. Just need to beat that damn 7 second 1/8th! :)

More numbers for you because I did use a dragy on the 2nd and 3rd runs tonight.
Best 0-60 on Roush tune is 3.15. Tonight I had a 3.09.
Best 60-130 on Roush tune is 7.76. Tonight I had a 6.64 and that was on the run it hit the limiter!
Best 0-130 on Roush tune is 11.20. Tonight was a 10.13. The botched run was a 10.87!

Best part of the evening was getting told to slow down! (I tech at 10AAA so I can't beat a 10 or go over 135).

Anyone with a 6 speed have issues with the launch control after their install? Just testing at 3500rpm it would level out then slowly drop to like 2700 and spike back up to 3500 then drop again, it will repeat this over and over. REALLY donā€™t want to mess with the roush dealer again, they were horrible. Fathouse fab is only 45 minutes from me but the cars only got 25k miles and I went roush to retain warranty, decisionsā€¦

Never tried to launch this thing at 3.5 rpm on street tires, it's a smoke show in 1st gear at any rpm.

With traction control on, it did a pretty good job but I know it wasnā€™t anywhere near full power in first or second. Either way it would be nice if a place like roush wouldnā€™t have messed up a function of my 2 year old car after I gave them a shit ton of cash. Iā€™ve also noticed a little hiccup in 4th wot around 110-120, almost feels like I let up on the throttle for a split second. Knowing what I do now, I wouldnā€™t have made the same decision and I canā€™t wait to have someone else tune the car.
