I recently added a black Autoart 1/18 GT350R to my collection. It's my first composite model but it still feels like an extremely high quality piece, and its supposed to prevent the paint issues that happens to diecast metal models over time, so I'm fine with it. The orange one is a 2019 GT by GT Spirit and the green is a 2020 GT500 by Maisto.

You at one time, could buy diecast model kits. That you had to build and paint.
It be nice if some diecast producer offered this option.
I know it not be totally the same thing, but a raw die cast unpainted, That you detail the interior, the body's paint, and such then screw the body to the chassis.
So you can make your own minime, s550 .
Plastic model kits don't take automotive paint very well.

Really? Wow. I did see the die-cast ones that you assemble yourself with screws. There were some aftermarket appearance and performance parts that you could add or you could build it as stock. I have never seen a die-cast one that you paint yourself.

I look at ebay and find some that are being bid on but still low price. I’ve not had any luck finding older releases any where else.

Lol its actually a nicely detailed model and my mom got it for me when I was a kid. Plus I needed a Mopar to go there

Thanks - same here. I was just wondering if you had a sourced dealer where you were able to get any better deals than eBay.

I too have some 1:18’s that were bought quite a few years ago that have jumped in value. They’re all still in their original boxes. Even a recent gift from 1-2 years ago, which was an Auto World Al Joniec 68 Cobra Jet is now upwards of $150-$200 depending on condition and who’s selling…

I have an original 1:18 GMP 1985 CHP SSP, bought new and has never been removed from the box (not displayed)… and man was I surprised to see the values of those now… c-r-a-z-y. People think the real car market is nuts, the 1:18 die-cast market is just as insane…. LOL!

Excluding the 1:18’s, I have a lot of Mustang related books which have also jumped in value… as well as original Dealer brochures from the introduction of the 1962 prototype up through year 2006 I think it is… I stopped collecting those for a bit, have to pick up where I left off…. But even some of those, originals, are commanding decent money these days.

I never set out to buy to make any $$$ on what I have, I just collect Mustang stuff.

I also have a huge WaWa Mustang art rendered sign that hung in the stores… double sided and it was to celebrate the Mustang 30th Anniversary for the 1994. It was a 30 Mustangs in 30 days giveaway. I have never seen another (yet), so I consider it to be a 1 of 1. I asked the local WaWa back then if I could have it and scored it (they were only going to trash it after the corporate giveaway). It’s approx 4ft by 3ft. This was the original newspaper ad for the giveaway of the time:
