@Zach@Granger did you mention a potential 3rd year of production the other day? I swear I remember seeing something about that.
There was nothing in the article about that specifically, but what will the do, if they need to stretch the S550's out for another year? Maybe a 3rd year of M1's would get an after market company to make lights for the M1 grill, etc. LOL!

I will bet M1 will be limited to a two year run. Don't rule out a year of the BOSS either.
Much easier for Ford to just carry on the M1 than make new stickers for a one year run of another BOSS. At best 2023 would get a new color, trim sticker package or change what feature comes with what pack.

'22MY starts in two days (Jan 3rd 2022).

S650 production starts March 2023.

That's 14 months.........so more than likely the '22 gets a slightly longer run. I'm not sure I buy S650 being a '24MY. If that's the case, do they skip the '23MY altogether? I doubt it.

What does this mean for the Mach 1? Nothing, it'll run to the end of the '22MY in my opinion.

Maybe a hybrid trial. Can't rule anything out.
Ooh that’s interesting. I imagine that could be for the S650 though. Like add in some sort of ~40HP E-boost feature and call it something new.

Not me. Everything I've read is I'm sure what you have seen too. S650 is 2023.

Since the mustang model year changeover is traditionally so late in the calendar year, any type of delay would almost force a model year change from 23 to 24, if they were planning on their typical timing.

I don't think it's a bad thing if we can get a few more months of production for the previous generation.

It's my understanding that you can't produce a 2021 in January 2022. It may not be delivered to the dealer by then, but you can't build it that way.

It may amount to a 2-3 month shutdown to retool for the new car.

I went back and found it. You were referring to the chip shortage going through 23. For some reason I had in my mind you were talking about production. Ignore me!!

I have solid source saying S650 will be MY24 because of chip shortages and other supply chain issues. We may get a rerun of MY22 in MY23.

Actually the shifting of the S650 to MY24 is the reason Europe could order MY22 Mach 1's.
