FWIW, G2 will match any paint for a fee. And they offer a DIY spray device for around $15. May take some back and forth if they haven't matched your color before. I was their first Velocity Blue. They demanded that my color be available thru some other paint supplier. So I had to convince that site to add VB first. G2 swears they don't get their components from xyz so your guess is as good as mine why they require the color to be available from xyz company as opposed to BASF, for example.

For potential G2 customers: none of their paints are metallic, etc, just match the color for custom or off the rack manufacturer colors. Not noticeable from eye height and thru spokes.
Are you saying if G2 matches your cars paint code (no metallic) you won't notice it doesn't match the body of your car?

I was aware they did match’s. G2 has a decent product, especially for the price point. I was always partial to BASF, specifically Glasurit and Diamont, although I used PPG for my calipers this time. Are you saying you can’t see or notice if it’s a metallic on a caliper through the wheels? On my Rapid Red calipers you can absolutely see the metallic in the base coat.

I'm saying I can't tell the difference with G2 VB calipers thru the bazillion PP1 wheel spokes while standing. But the only VB in the same plane is the side of my mirror covers. Car is OW with painted VB stripes, mirror covers, etc. (see avatar) FWIW VB is a triple pearl. The metallic particles are tiny compared to most Ford metallic paint.

I wasn't saying your comment was wrong, I was just a bit confused and wanted clarification. I am thinking about color matching my calipers but the metallic issue is causing me to think twice. G2 says, " It is virtually impossible to exactly match metallic and pearlescent colors".

I never believed that "excuse". Not sure why they don't offer metallic unless their sources for the paint don't do it or it would add so much to their costs its not worth it. I don't think matching the car's paint is a high demand thing. Most people want something contrasting. I only went for VB because I already had VB accents on my white car. So if you aren't matching anything on the car, who would even notice if the caliper paint was an "exact match" to a color not even on the car.

Thanks Tony, wait for my call...
I have friends in San Mateo and Burlingame. It would make a nice trip for a few days. I'm into it if you are.

I purchased 2 cans of Dupli-Color Black Gloss Caliper and 2 cans of Dupli-Color Engine Enamel Gloss Clear spray paint and had the local body shop paint them (front and back) for $250 and they look great!

I've done a couple sets myself. They came out great IMO as well as other people's 2 cents. G2 and some diligence. The powder coating thing sounds great but I don't like taking things apart until need be and it's costy for a part of the car that gets grimy daily.

Here's my examples.... $50 bucks, a few hours, and get back to living.

Yes and that looks as goods as 400 bucks, the key is the prep, clean and degrease, no need to pressure wash.

Here's a nifty tid_bit, who the hell is going to see the back side ? Front and top at very the most.

Powder coat will dull, been thru a few sets of headers & do exactly that . And don't kid yourself brakes will hot enough to discolor the powder.
