I believe Ford uses the same latch assy on both cars. Because you have a convertible, there would not be a release cable as on the coupe. Mine was missing on my '19. I never bothered to buy a replacement.

I was reading this and thought, "I wonder if it is missing in mine". So went out to the garage - then started laughing because I traded the convertible in on a coupe in July!

I'm pretty sure that the inside the trunk release handle was in my convertible. No pictures that I can think of though. If I can find the pictures from when I put the Steeda pop the trunk kit on I can check.

Then how would someone locked in the trunk get out? Can you release the seat backs from inside the trunk?
The convertible seat back doesn't fold down IIRC The coupe glow in the dark trunk release handle is connected to the cable that is attached to the locking jaws on the hatch. I don't recall there being a cable on the trunk lid of my convertible. I'm probably wrong as I was never concerned about it.

Just sell it. You’ll make a profit.

I can't say this would be worth the hassle of 2 trips to the dealership. You know they're going to have to look at it, order the part, and bring you back for install.

Call it "unique" and enjoy it.

OK, I need to read my own posts. Maybe the release isn’t on the trunk lid.

Thanks.
I actually posted the similar diagram(few posts above).
That highlighted cable is the ā€œmanual keyedā€ release that goes into the rear seat(driver’ side) The convertibles have it.

The slot hole for the emergency pull tab is actually on the trunk liner.
Its also not anywhere near the tailights or surrounding bottom area of the trunk. (I looked behind the trunk carpeting…nada)

Like I said before, its not a big issue for me. I posted the pics just in case someone also has a missing emergency pull tab on their verts.

I totally get it but this is like an itch you can’t reach. We have to know!! šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚
Yup! gotcha:like:
Iā€˜m waiting on the part I ordered (the one I posted a few pages ago).
The dealer I bought the car from is about 2hrs away.…Local dealer can prob do it, but parts are on ā€œNational backorderā€.

I can understand a non critical item being on backorder. But a safety related item ? Crazy.

Last week I covered my bases and ordered online…it says ā€œin stockā€.
The thing is…online it says ā€œin stockā€, but few days later I got email saying we placed a request for the part.

Now it says ā€œin processā€. So its a waiting game…
