Finally got the trunk pop kit installed. Took literally under 2 minutes. :handsinair: It's lot more heft to close it now, but something something Newton's third law...

This'll make my daily commutes, baseball, golfing, grocery-getting so much more convenient! Unless I knock unknowing passenger's teeth out!

Got mine when they first came out. Love them. Always use a microfiber to close. :like:

They actually (per the customer rep) had to switch suppliers, so I got them at $90 instead of the normal $80 or whatever. Distinct hissing sound, but so far so good!

You can sand it off from the back to keep the OE look :

I used a Japanese saw but it had a lot of resistance so I switched to a coping saw. It had less control and cut too deep, leaving the remaining grid too shallow IMO.

In hindsight I should have stuck with the Japanese saw, used some lubrication, and sawed with front side of the grille facing me so that I could have better QC over the process.

While waiting for parts since my car is up in the air, I decided to measure the runout of my front wheels. (Rears are off atm.)

I used the clever HF dial indicator. The photo shows (from left to right):
  • Engraved date in the outer rim by the wheel repair guy
  • Dial indicator at point of Max runout (.031")
  • Flex arm in locked position
  • Special vice grip

62k took me 10 months to get to. Of course minus 27k from it when I bought the car last year. Y'all need to drive more instead of hiding your cars. Life is short get out and drive.
62K?
I average 4000km / year. That's only 2485 miles.
That's the way it is for a summer, fair weather, weekend car. Canadian weather sucks!

I agree. I have 35K since 12/2018. Not as many as you but I look forward everyday to fire it up and flip to Sport Mode.

Makes my day.

She drives a ton! Average of like 116 miles a day after removing the 27k she started with. I DD mine and get about 10k a year, less if work has me traveling. She seems to enjoy it and I'm happy for her. I wish @EmCel another at least 62k worry free happy miles.

Well yeah it is my daily and go out of town car so ... go out of town every weekend car 😆 6/7/8 hour drives each way or more if I feel like exploring or getting lost in a nice state. This is why I ride solo because I can bust a U, take another exit, drive however I wanna drive, listen to my music, and enjoy the road. I got no one to annoy me on the passenger seat or someone that nags about how I drive my car. Good times 👍🏻

Ugh I hope so! I wanna hit 100k miles without any problems, maybe just replace the clutch and that's it. I might hit 70-80k within 2 months who knows.

100k is the milestone for me. When I met my wife I went through 4 cars in a year and she said "If we're gonna get married, you need to stop going through cars so fast." and the 100k miles deal was made. the 4th car was my mini and got it with 38k and sold it to a buddy at 98k. 18.6k on the mustang now and I may go further than 100k before getting the next car, who knows. This is my 14th car in 22 years of driving.
