Interesting that the Chassis number is the same as the last 4 numbers of the VIN.

I wonder if all of the 15's did that?
Only the 137 cars from the 50th Anniversary 2015 GT350/R model year had the chassis number and VIN match each other whereas the following 5 model years (2016 - 2020) everything was random with respect to the chassis number and VIN's.

When ordering car #77 I waited until the very last day before the 2015 order banks closed in Dearborn which was Friday, June 5th and although I had a good idea that the Shadow Black and DIB OTT stripes might be a 1 of 1 color combination, I had no idea what chassis number/build order that my car would be assigned at the FRAP therefore I thought that I lucked out with a very cool chassis number.

Of the numerous GT350/R's that I have been very fortunate to own this is the only car that I did not put any miles on and sold it at auction just over a year ago and if I recall correctly it hammered for $85,800 therefore it will be very interesting to see what this car brings a year later?

Did you try ordering an R or was that just not possible? I wonder if most of those VIP 2015 R owners still have them.

I know of four people who were a selected for the 2015 R models, 3 of the 4 sold them because they were offered a kings ransom for them, and the remainder is Jay Leno, and heā€™s never selling his.

Yes, I tried to get an allocation for a 2015 R but unfortunately got started a little late with my request but undertsood that I would have been okay if Ford was going to make 40 cars which obviously they did not.

F0036 was the second last R built and went to Jay Leno with the very last R namely F0037 went to John Atzbach who just happened to sell that car at the same auction and on the same day that I sold F0077 just over a year ago.

A very close friend of mine was very fortunate to purchase F0016 at Kissimmee earlier this year and that 2015 R was still on the MSO therefore never titled. Shadow Black with Black OTT stripes.

I had known about this car for some time but never thought that I would see it go to auction as it was owned by a very large Ford dealership in Texas and when I heard that it was going up for auction I immediately alerted my good buddy in Georgia and said don't lose this car over just a few thousand dollars as F0016 was probably the only remaining 2015 R that was still on the MSO.

What a smoking deal that was for $115,000 and no question one of the very best buys of the year.

Never say never as there are still some great deals out there! :sunglasses:

What the hell did they do to that beautiful Shelby?!!! Did they attempt to make a wide-body? That looks terrible.

Serious question: how long do you think it will take them to realize they have a POS?
I think they already know it! What a way to really mess up a beautiful machine! Iā€™ll call and offer $10.00 ā€œCashā€! It will probably cost $60k to make her right again!

Yes, August has been a very busy month and looking forward to your monthly recap that you so kindly provide to this forum.

It will be interesting to see where this GT350 hammers on Saturday in Auburn as it is a "No Reserve" 2015 Track Pack car and believe that it is still untitled and still on the MSO.

Very low miles, 1 of 1 color combination and a cool chassis #77 should help it as well.

Took me forever to find it, but it appears the 2015 GT350 hammered for $72,500. So $79,750 final price.

Certainly disappointing I would say. It was estimated it to go between 100k and 125k. It appears that regular Gt350s, even a 1 of 1 2015 spec, is just being overshadowed by the R model. It may be a really long time before a car like this one gets the love it deserves. Great buy though for the new buyer. I'd hold for 10 plus years at least and then see what the temp is like.

Well after a very poor start of the month with the 2017 white wrapped car selling for 70k, and @526 HRSE coming in and reminding everyone again that our cars are just part of the regular used car market and not actually appreciating, we have rebounded.

It appears that the 2017 R is actually just a outlier. The wrap may have deterred a lot of buyers just because they couldn't see what the original paint looked like. I know I personally wouldn't want to buy a wrapped car at this price point.

The 2019 Magnetic R was slightly underwhelming, but it was offered on Cars and Bids which has a lot less bidders. But it was awesome to see that FPB go for 95k with 2700 miles on it. Great showing. And now we have two 2020 R's that have sold for 110k, confirming that the original was no fluke and that this is the current benchmark for standard R models (no 2015s, no vin001 cars, no heritage cars, and so on).
