Hi guys-
I have a 2021 mustang GT with A10 trans.
Just wanted to see what brand engine oil do you guys use with the ROUSH blower, or blowers in general. I know its 5W50 full synthetic oil, just wondering which brand most people prefer. They filled her up with Motorcraft at dealer.
Thanks Anthony

Most run motorcraft, some run mobil1, I run pennzoil platinum euro 5w40. Whipple though so I guess it doesn’t count.

I'm running Motorcraft full synthetic 5W50 per Roush/Ford recommendation. There are lots of good oils out there, but didn't see a reason to deviate from the factory fill - especially when I'm still working with a warranty.

Brand is not a big deal but I would look into the European blends if I was you.

I definitely lean toward euro blends. The euro specs are the only specs that have a category and minimum requirements specifically for high performance engines (A3/B4). That said, I usually select the euro blend that uses a group 3+ or 4 base oil, which means either GTL or PAO. Most are dinosaur-derived group 3. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a 5w50 that met all of said requirements which is why I landed where I did.

Pretty sure Amsoil 5w50 is a group V.
I don’t know if it is, but group 5 covers a lot of ground and can mean a lot of things. It doesn’t matter anyway because it doesn’t meet ACEA A3/B4 and it’s $150/change. My oil is definitely a group 3+, definitely meets A3/B4, and is $38/change available at Walmart.

Looks like the Driven FR50 is a good group4 base oil, but lacks any sort of certification, let alone ACEA A3/B4. Plus it’s expensive as compared to my $19/jug that is group3+ and A3/B4.

I run what engineermike runs and like the fact that I can to change the oil before/after hard use.

Very cost effective.

Whipple also

Roush recommends the same thing.....except 10 quarts for 2018+.
That is what I use.

Amsoil 5w50 and ceratec for me

I might do 0w40 in the winter, not sure yet but I already have some amsoil 0w40 oil. I live in Florida, but I dont drive in traffic so my car doesnt get really hot, if I lived where it gets freezing I would almost definitely use 0w40 in the winter.

Maybe I will do a blend of 5w50 and 0w40 in the winter so I can use up the 0w40 I have relatively safely.
