They did mandate wearing masks and most went along with it.

For myself I had the covid and recovered. I cannot speak for them, but I believe it is due to no long term testing and the push for getting the jab.

No other vax is pushed as hard. I ask, why?

Why no million dollar lotteries for the polio vax? ect.........
Once again you trot out the same stuff as a few days ago. The urgency is clearly because COVID is killing people NOW whereas polio as you mention is largely gone. Remember the US has been polio free since 1979 because of vaccination hence not much reason to pay people to have it ?

So you don't even know why your 'MD' sister has not had the vaccine ? But you surmise unfounded concerns about safety and political pressure to get the vaccine - somebody who like you has a problem with being told what to do even when it is for your own good.

The story just unravels in front of our eyes. 3.2 billion people have been vaccinated saving hundreds of thousands of lives, but hey the residents of a hick town in Kentucky don't like being pushed about. So childish. Reap what you sow.

Personally I am not for compulsory vaccination as it tends to generate more vaccine reluctance as some people just don't like being told what to do - maybe you are one of those. However I do support restrictions based on vaccine status, so if you don't vaccinate then you are subject to restrictions on certain activities where you are a risk to others such as nightclubs / enclosed spaces etc. At the end of the day more of the anti vaxxers will die than those who are vaccinated - fact - so you had it coming if you chose that option.
Hello; As stated a few times I am fully vaccinated. I am old with a couple of comorbidities, so the risk from a new vaccine was worth it to me compared to the virus itself.

Here is the way I look at it. If the vaccine works as advertised then I am protected. If the vaccine is less than perfect at preventing the infection, then is is being said I will likely have a milder case. So I took the shot and do not worry about those who have not. I am protected to some degree so do not see any reason to restrict or punish the un-vaccinated. You get the shots and can be protected like me.

This notion of punishing those who do not want a vaccine is not my cup of tea. They likely know the risk they are taking and do not need more grief from folks who think like you do.

I know only a couple of folks who refuse to get the shots. Well I may know more but do not ask. I made my choice and what they do is up to them.

But they are... Where are you getting your facts from? Vaccines have been all but completely mandatory for decades. But for some reason people are thinking this one's the big hoax?

Look at your own CDC's website for all the vaccinations that are had by most children before even the age of 18 months, let alone the age of 5. The difference is, kids aren't reading conspiracies on the Internet and most parents, don't want their kids to suffer a horrible existence or worse... death.

I am pleased you are vaccinated and as a result look forward to arguing with you in the future.

Remember however that vaccination works for the benefit of others not just you. By being vaccinated you will be helping protect others, even the stupid! As I said I am not pro compulsory vaccination, but that doesn't mean we don't need protecting from the idiots that don't. Unfortunately as has been clearly demonstrated on here some of those refusing vaccination very clearly DO NOT understand the risk they put themselves and others at.

Cases are now falling in the UK for the first time without any 'lockdown' type restrictions. It is early days but this is a huge landmark demonstrating that vaccination can control COVID.

How does offering incentive equate to being a hoax versus enticing more people who are sitting on the fence? The point is to have the majority of the population create a herd immunity, not whatever the conspiracy flavor of the day might be.

Hello; At least part of the reason was there was not tons of money around. The huge deficit spending bills passed recently sent lots of money to states. Just months ago states and cities were about to default as they were low on money. Now they have lots of money fresh printed to throw around. You know the paper money printed so much we are having inflation.

I fully support these vaccines (I got mine as soon as I could in March), but please refrain from stereotyping. There are people not getting vaccinated (by choice) all around the world. Your country has less that 70% either partially or fully vaccinated. Why isn't it higher? The country with the highest percentage of "unvaccinated and not willing to get vaccinated" right now is France.
