As the title says... As I consumer could I take my 2016 GT Premium to a dealership and have them gold certify it?It's only got 22K on it and no aftermarket parts.

I don't quite understand what you're asking. You want a dealership to CPO your car so you can sell it privately as a CPO car? You're personally going to warranty the car to the new owner? Or are you expecting some random dealership to warranty your private car sale?

One more question. What car are we talking about? Your account profile is for a 2015 and your asking about CPO'ing a 2016. Start with a clean title before you hit the dealership.

This maybe be my misunderstanding of how it works and hence my question.

The 16 is a Mustang I just bought that replaced the 15 after it was totalled when a tree branch fell on it. So I don't want to sell the car. I want to
know if I can get the warranty that comes with gold certification or is it only when a Ford dealer sells a used car that can be done.

The dealer has to sell the car.

Now I understand why you asked. Yes the dealer certifies it and sells the car after you sell it to him.
I got it from a Lexus dealer so they obviously can't do it. I'm not terribly worried about it at this point. It would have been a nice to have.

You may want to look into a used car extended service plan from Ford or even a third party. I believe you only have a short window to do this with a used car purchase, something like 30 days I think.

I just went through buying an ESP for my car, today actually.

Can I ask how much it was? Not trying to be nosy, just trying to determine what I'm looking at in terms of cost.

Your costs will be specific for your situation, I'll PM you with some info.

I can sell you an extended warranty if you want... from 3 months to 4 years, as basic as powertrain only or almost bumper to bumper

Flood Ford is typically stated as having one of the best prices for a Ford ESP.

I believe there's a mileage cap or it needs to be in the original warranty period in order to get an ESP through them, however.

I've bought 3 FoMoCo ESPs, directly through Ford (not a dealership), and each one has paid for itself.
