why not revert it to stock and keep the handheld? That way the buyer doesn't walk into a landmine.

Reason #1,238,634 I would never buy a used vehicle, especially one of these that people mod so often.

I vote do the right thing and return to stock tune. Don't sell car with tune and potentially end up screwing with a fellow Mustanger who buys it

Unmolested examples are plentiful. But it's better to stay low mileage. It not hard to tell a car that's been thrashed.

Given the litigious nature of our society today, there’s no way I wouldn’t put the tune back stock. The dealership can tell you anything today and do something entirely different next month.

Besides, it’s California right? I’m pretty sure they even have enforceable limits on personal methane expulsion.

esp since you have an E85 tune on the thing. The eventual owner is likely to put 87 in it.

after going stock put the tuner in baggie with letter spelling out the nature of the tune, who did it. And mark it "convey with car, do not separate" in big bold letters at the top. Doesn't mean the dealer won't "lose" it but if it manages to get to the buyer, the tune can be re-applied if so desired.

They will “lose it” for sure.

When I traded my 2017, I put it back to stock with the exception of the H-pipe. I then wrote up a list of everything I had for the car, including the tuner, with prices and put it in the manual package (along with contact info). The next owner contacted me and purchased most of the list.

Admittedly, if there's something on the car that requires the tune, and you don't have the stock component, you may not have a choice.

When I traded in my 14' it was modded quiet a bit. I ran it E85 %100 of the time. Changed it back to 91 on the last day. I asked them if they wanted a list of the mods for the next guy or to iclude in the selling point & they told me NO. If I hadnt changed the fuel I dont think they would of noticed until they put the wrong fuel in it.

Return the car to stock. The dealer is not going to tell a potential buyer it has been tuned or provide them with any material that suggests it has been tuned. They will know nothing about any tune.
