How many owners have HPE cars? I sold my GT500 and now really considering going back to the GT350. I had a 2017 and sold it. I then bought a 2020 GT500 but could not pass up the money offered for a 6 month old car.

Both cars were Oxford white with blue stripes. I am a fan of that color combo and would love to own a HPE R car more like the original Wimbledon white and blue combo. A HPE could be enough for me to forgo my 2022 allocation for a GT500 and buy a used HPE.
Can anyone who does own one post up some pics?

Good that you made money on the 500 - be ready to blow it all and more on a 350R ;)

Oh sorry, you said 350.

It will be interesting. Do you wait for priced to potentially go down or do you spend all the money now? :)

A 2020 HEP R model is not impossible to find but with only 280 cars assembled it will be a challenge to locate a low mileage example that is in a reasonable price range.

Expect to pay between $95,000 to $110,000 for a low mileage example and not much better pricing for even a higher mileage HEP R.

I like to disassemble things.
In before the OP buys a GT350 and then posts about buying a blower kit to get back to the power level he had with the 500...

I’ll wait for the right deal. I found a base HPE but it’s listed as an R but it’s not. The price reflects a base price as the car is a base car. 5,xxx miles and a reasonable price. Less than a new 500 for sure.

It’s a tough call but I would not put a blower on a 350 having had a 500. I would get the HPE for what it is. I had the faster car and it was fun but obviously it did not do enough to pass on the money. Rowing the gears and the sound of the Voodoo is so sweet. Guess I’m at a crossroads. A very nice used quick car specked as I want it or fast car specked to as close to an original paint option as I can get. I have some time to decide. The 2022 CFHP will be low 90k ish but new if I can get one. Get lucky and find a good used HPE R for maybe that price.

Wise decision with respect to purchasing a HEP R for what it is and as you mentioned rowing the gears along with the FPC engine in Sport Mode at speed the aural sound is as good as it gets.

Each to their own but I could not imagine adding a supercharger to a HEP R let along numerous heat exchangers which would increase the weight and dynamics of the car.

Assuming that you have not driven a 2020 R model I suggest that the first time that you drive a 2020 R compared to your 2017 GT350 you will be pleasantly surprised with the improved steering and handling of the 2020 R.

No question in my mind that the pinnacle for the 6-year run of the GT350/R is the 2020 GT350R.

Good luck with your search and hope that you can locate a HEP R at a reasonable price. :fingerscrossed:

I would suggest doing as @PP0001 said and try and link up with a 2020 R owner for a direct experience. I had a 16 R and the 20 R, with the revised frontend hardware, the engine changes, and a slightly more refined interior (not sure what they did differently between the years but there’s a difference in quality - it’s a little better) was a welcome change. The 16R actually felt more raw... the 20R, more refined.

I do, however, agree with @Epiphany that the feeling of awe-power will be gone. Torque is a joke between the two cars, but that being said, sound, shifting manually, less weight, more exclusivity are characters of the R that appeal more to me than a 500. I think you summed it up nicely with your reasons for wanting a 350 again. Nothing beats a manual in a track car, IMHO, but the 500 (optioned right) is a beast on both the street and the track, you just have to let the computer, or some finger tabs, do the shifting for you. I love the intellectual input/output experience the manual provides.

All being said, you are torn between two of the sweetest 4-wheeled machines out there. @Epiphany has a mind-blowing pic of his white 500 sitting in his driveway that is sexier than any pose I’ve ever seen on a 500, or any mustang for that matter. The dude framed that shot perfectly. And the HEPR is a gorgeous car in Wimbledon white. Some like the Guardsman stripe package, some don’t, but I for one love my car. $110k wouldn’t sway me from mine. So, if you wanna wait for the 2022 CFHP and don’t really need a ride, invest and make additional gains off the sell of your 500. Whatever you decide, enjoy.
