All a matter of personal preference -- for me, it's gotta be chrome. I'm going to search out a set of chromes as soon as TireRack makes wheels available for the 2015's.

I originally hated black wheels as from a distance its looked like the vehicle was riding around on spare tires. Looks good up close in person, but from a distance or in most pics its "meh". But eventially I grew to like it enough that I bought a set of FR500 satin black replicas for my 2001 GT. But that was 3 years ago when it was starting to become more popular.

Personally think the fad is fading as its been the in trend for a while now, at least here in the Tampa, FL area.

Ive come to think the best looking wheel color on most cars is a dark graphite grey, it looks mean but it still gives some contrast to the tire. If I end up getting a new 2015 I might powder coat them in that color.

Id still take black over chrome though, chrome reminds me of ghetto donk cars...or some old dudes 1990's corvette.

I think black wheels are a generational thing.

Based on conversation with my car buddies and general observations, it seems that black wheels appeal to the under 35 crowd, while traditional wheels of the 80's - 00's appeal to the over 40 set.

Almost to a man ( or woman ) over 40 that I've talked to, the total black wheels remind them of a car that's lost it's hubcaps, and looks, well..... cheap.

I know this is generalizing, and some older folks like black wheels and visa-versa, but I think it holds true.

If I were to buy a car ( and I'm over 40 ) with black wheels, or install aftermarket black wheels, I'd prefer a look with a little contrast, like this:

Not the best picture, but you get the idea.

Still Ford shouldn't have pidgeon holed PP buyers. They couldn't give use one single wheel option other than black?

Automakers are right that it is a trend, more like was. I agree it is a total generational thing. To me black wheels were a hot fad on the street level several years ago. Now it seems it finally hit corporate offices

I think I might strip the paint and paint it some other color. The silver that we saw in France looked nice, but I am a fan of gold wheels.

The pp black wheels with the performance package look a hell lot better in person... plus, they hide the brake dust much better.. having the ingot silver, it contrasts perfectly as well as some of the lighter colored cars... planning on getting a second set of wheels... probably silver powder coat or gunmetal do that when changing wheels, I will have an extra set in time when the older wheels need to get changed.. That way the cost will not be an upfront blow to the pocket since each tire is nearly 200 & above...

I'm forced to like them since they come with the must have PP. Def wasn't a fan, but slowly warming up to them and I think guard is one of the colors they look better on.

I thought the real reason they were black was to hide the brake dust from the Brembos.
Having had a 2012 Boss302 with gloss black wheels I can tell you it does NOT hide brake dust. I makes those gloss black wheels look like they have a layer of brown dust on them and shows it just as easily as any other color. Gun metal hides brake dust the best IMO

Black wheels look like empty wheel wells to me. But I don't like big wheels either. Look like wagon wheels.

I must admit that I like the 12-14 boss base wheels though. I was looking for a set for my car until I decided to wait and get a 15.

Its the machined lip that made those wheels. I'm not a fan of the all black wheel. Glad the LE does have that wheel
