So after looking at what seems like 6000 wheels, I found some I like in Gloss Black. Really looking for the concave design, but not sure if these wheels will stick out the fenders. Looking at 20x8.5 up front, and 20x10 out back. Was really wanting a 295 or 305 tire out back, but I don't think that will fit safely on a 10" wheel? I assume also that a 255 tire is the max up front on the 20x8.5? Also, any negative feedback on TSW Wheels? Looking at the specs, says they are forged but only weight 27-29lbs. The offsets are variable on what's available, so anyone know the min offset before the wheel is exposed outside the fender?

A follow-up, really settling on this one. Looks like with the offset being so low (really giving the concave look I'm after) that the 10.5" won't fit on the car. This isn't a problem if I can run a 295 on that 10" wheel. As for the front, wish I could get wider than the stock 255, but I'm afraid a 265 would be took wide for 8.5" wheel. According to TireRack, the 255 and 295 will fit on these wheel, barely.

Not the best fit...also new wheels but mediocre fitment...why? Also, I think most TSW wheels require hubcentric ring as well.

Interesting. Didn't realize that, not good. Well crap. Thanks for pointing it out. Exactly why I made this post.

Ideally I'd like to have something that isn't flush (lower offset) but allows comfortably a 295 or even 305 out back, 275 up front. Any suggestions? Oh yeah, gotta be light.

yeah you need better taste in wheels. :) Just run 19x10et35 square. 275 or 285. Who are you trying to impress anyway with phat rear tires?

You can find 19x10/10.5 combos and 19x10/11 combos all the live long day. Centering rings are not something to disqualify wheel selection. Just buy Aluminum rings and you'll be just fine.

Did you get a chance to read thru the billion posts on wide wheels? or "aggressive" fitments? Many of those combos are 'sane' fitments just with spacers to push the tires out past the fender so you can throw mud and rocks at your bodywork. I've never understood the merit of that.

Haha, well to each their own. Not trying to impress anyone, I just like the look of the phat tires. That said, who cares what it looks like if its not doable, or safe. I do agree though, I really don't want to be throwing rocks and debris on the car, hence why I was concerned about the lower offsets which give the concave look, but push the outer wheel closer to the fender edge. Thinking I may have to sacrifice my desires for the concave wheel.

neither of the 2 wheels you posted look at all concave to me. But maybe I don't understand the term. Apex EC7 are concave in my book.

Don't let anyone tell you that your taste in wheels is wrong. The whole point of picking a wheel style is that it customizes the car to your personal vision. Can you find some examples of cars with concave looking setups that you like? That might be a good starting place. If you're looking at nutjob/impractical/extreme fitments....well, then you may want to reassess. :)

The posts above do make good points, there are lots of wheels to choose from that aren't a compromised fit. That may help you narrow down your selection a bit.

LMR's SVE line of wheels are pretty popular, relatively light, not terribly expensive. Depending on the model, do have some "concave" looks. It might be worth checking them out.

Thanks man. Honestly I'm not a fan really of any of the SVE look, however I wish I was due to the price. I've really narrowed it down to a few options noted below. Not necessarily stuck on this brand, but this will give you an idea of what my preference is.

Clypse: This one is my favorite, but the front sizing is too small I think, could probably only do a 255 up front. That said, I could go square with 295s all the way around on the 10" wheel. Will that 20x fit up front?

Cant fine a real image of these on an S550.

Bathurst: Problem here is I was really wanting gloss black, but otherwise the sizes are good as I could do a 295 out back and a 265/275 up front.

Watkins: Probably my third choice. The sizing all looks good, and they at least have the gloss black face (not sure what is matte black, the inner wheel?).

TSW has a nice wheel "Configurator" on their website where you can select them on an S550. Like I said, not stuck on this brand, but you get an idea of the style I like. What I don't want is what the stock PP wheels have, essentially a flat face. Which is another reason why I may be coming around to the squared setups. The question I really need answered is, what's the largest (safe) tire folks are running on a 20x10 S550 setup?

Those still aren't the best when it comes to the tire fitment you want. A 295 tire really needs an 11" wheel outback. A 275 needs at least a 9.5" for the front. Once again disqualifying compromise in my eyes. To each their own.

No that’s good stuff man. I see many of these wheel/tire companies including AM/LMR/CJ selling a 295 (even a 305) option in that 10” wheel. That’s where I was getting that fitment, for which I was mistaken. Above all it must be safe.

also why are you stuck on 20's? go 9.5 or 10 wide at all 4 corners. no one will notice staggered vs square.

Not stuck on 20s, just that for those wheel options (TSW above) all their 19” were only 9.5” wide. If they had a 19x11 the issue would be solved. I’d actually rather have 19s, but I cant find the widths I want for the style of wheel I like. I could do 9.5” wide all the way around, but I’m not spending $2000 to keep the same width tire out back. At a minimum I want 295s in the rear, which sounds like I need a 10.5 or 11.

It is the minimum recommended wheel width for a 295 but its not optimal. The way you spend your money is obviously up to you. However this is a forum in which ideas are shared and if you are going to go through the expense of switching out tires and wheels (not a cheap expense at all) you should go what works best. A 295 tire won't perform any better on a 10" wheels than a 285 on a 10" wheel, in fact the edge might even go to the 285 tire.

One more thing, at 27-29lbs that isn't that much lighter than OEM. I would rather keep the OEM wheel than those if that's the case. I know you aren't into the SVE wheel lineup but my SVEs in 19X10 and 19X11 are 24lbs and 23lbs respectively. A win win would be an aesthetically pleasing as well as performance enhancing wheel. With the SVE wheels I saved approximately 40lbs of rotational mass and you can feel that, the car just feels so much lighter on its feet.

Don't take this as a criticism we are all here to help.
