Has anyone used the Maestro AF03 t-harness without using the DSR-1? My original audio install included the DSR-1 but I was not happy with it. I returned it to Crutchfield and ordered the TwK 88. My plan is to use the AF03 harness and just wire in RCAs to the input wires of the AF03. I've seen one or two threads where guys have said they did the same thing with positive results, not there has not been any recent feedback. My two main concerns are what functionality might I lose without the maestro capabilities, if any, and will this actually work? Any feedback would would be much appreciated!

I can tell you what will change in your car without the DSR-1 because I don't have one and I removed the factory amp.
I am using my own custom made harness that replaced that factory amp.
Your chimes, ding-dongs, back-up, and cross check alerts will play through the instrument panel speaker because you won't have the CAN-BUS communication that the DSR-1 had.
Anytime you connect a code reader you will have a DTC for the missing oem amp. (looking into Forscan to fix that)
As long as the AF03 harness wiring gives you all 4 audio channels (I think it's the Gry,Wht,Vio,Grn wire pairs) you can connect them to the TwK88 RCA inputs.
You are going to need a +12V switched connection to the car for your TwK remote turn-on. (the 6V from the head unit can be used with a PAC TR4 trigger)
The TwK has balanced inputs so this will keep noise to a minimum whether you mount it under the dash or in the trunk. Just use twisted pair to hook-up. I am using a Hertz DSP in my trunk and I used Cat5e STP network cable (sheilded twisted pair) and I have no hiss or noise what-so-ever.
You can download and play with the TwK Tun software to see how it works. I think you'll be impressed with it's flexibility.
