That is an amazing find.
I bought the R version. I know who can have it stamped. I don't think there are any more in existence. I was thinking of having it stamped PP001. (@PP0001)

I also bought the last R decklid badge as well (just in case one of mine gets pried off in a parking lot). I cant remember when they were sold separately. These days you have to buy the whole decklid rear panel for the badge.

I think they are the same. Ill have to look. However in the early days, I recall that that is the way they came. Now they make you buy the whole panel.

I like to disassemble things.
The emblems and decklid panel come from Tribar Manufacturing, LLC. The front emblem is what was sold, the rear emblem is fused (the pins are melted) to the decklid panel.

You can see the pins here on the inside of the rear decklid panel.

No one who values their car would allow the dash plaque to go missing.

Do you know if they also make the door sill scuff plates?

I don't. If they aren't shut down you can call. Gotta be savvy and get through to anyone in engineering. Then hopefully you'll get an answer.

Well I bought it. Got it from a Ford dealer so I got the window sticker pdf. Still may order one. It still have over a year warranty left and I got an extended one for a another 4 years. I order a blank plaque from EBay and will look into getting the chassis number put on it. In the end, I didn’t want to wait and I got a good deal for the car and my trading. Thanks for all your input.
Regardless of the plaque, congrats on the purchase!

Curious, how much did they put you out for the extended warranty? Only reason I ask, is that you usually can get better deals online. I bought my ‘18 CPO in December and got the 7yr/100k Premiumcare through Zeigler Ford for $1500.

It looks like the hole pattern might be the same. When I get mine, I will look further into it.

The pattern is the same on every S550 made, for that outer bezel on the panel. That is, unless a change was made for the gargantuan GT500 snake...

I got 6 years with $0 deductible from Penfed for only $1000. I normally don't buy extended warranties since I don't keep my cars that long, but I thought it was a good idea with this one. Thanks.

Yea and don't know price now but my 16 had a hairline crack develop on the back panel at edge of one side of the emblem. It was covered under warranty but they told me if I'd had to buy it since its fused to the black panel therefore the entire panel has to be replaced it would have cost me $900.00 plus.

I was thinking the same thing. I’m not a collector as you see in my signature. I will have this car for two to three years and trade it in.
I certainly understand why you are so drawn to this deal. All I can say is that I bought a 20th anniversary edition (one of 1200 or so GT350s built in the spring of 1984, although it was only an emblem model with no substantive changes). I got a great deal, I thought, right off a showroom. I didn't discover until later (since I'd never seen one, in person) that there was supposed to be a dash plaque. Mine didn't have it. I loved the car and kept it for many years, but it never stopped seeming like "less" because that plaque wasn't there. I never stopped wondering why.

That actually triggered a memory. My grandmother had a 67 Mustang fastback when I was a child. That was the original 'grandma do a burnout for us' car that she would indulge me and my neighborhood friends with when leaving my house. She later continued that tradition with her mid seventies Cutlass. Back to the Mustang, she ordered it new and it had a plaque on the dash something to the effect of 'made by Ford for Lois Neumann'. Ironically years later a new family moved in a few houses down and they then owned the Mustang but it was a sad rusted out shell by then due to the Wisconsin winters and use of salt on the roads. Wish now I had asked them for that plaque. Would have been a good reason to buy a 67 fastback :)
