I was thinking the same thing. I’m not a collector as you see in my signature. I will have this car for two to three years and trade it in.

Your logic is all wrong. Why not purchase through the forums and cut out the dealer which saves you money. Also gets you an opportunity to be ahead on the trade in cause I promise you that you'll get dinged quite a lot when it's that time. Private Sales are the way to go my friend. Best of luck.

Expand your search area. A lot of us on here have driven 1 or more states over to get the cars we wanted. There are a lot of these for sale. Hell, I drove 350 miles to get my last corvette. That missing dash plaque could possibly lower your resale value.

I agree that if the plaque is missing... who knows what else may be missing. On the other hand, if the previous owner took it as a memorabilia and that is all... then I'm sure you could have one custom built a trophy shop. You will probably need to purchase a "similar" one off of Ebay to give them a reference to match. There are places out there that will build/3D print anything you want but be prepared to pay for it. Just my $0.02.

Hey @Ash1977 , I missed out on getting a copy of my window sticker when it was available through Ford. I used the website below. I think it was $5-10 to get a pdf of it.

The window sticker doesn’t have the chassis number but it will confirm your VIN.

If you have a good dealer they can print out one and give you the PDF of it in color. I got mine that way for free.

Well I bought it. Got it from a Ford dealer so I got the window sticker pdf. Still may order one. It still have over a year warranty left and I got an extended one for a another 4 years. I order a blank plaque from EBay and will look into getting the chassis number put on it. In the end, I didn’t want to wait and I got a good deal for the car and my trading. Thanks for all your input.

follow up.... how are you going to get the chassis number stamped? The chasis name plate looks legit. See ebay item 392791804279

There is only one person that I know of who has been able to have this done by the machine that does the stamping.

I am sure it could be professionally printed on (try Roger Stakes at SoloGraphix (337) 231-0031) or you could just buy some white vinyl letter decals and do it yourself.
