You don't need to be on a track to get the full benefit out of it, you also don't need to sit at 8000 rpms. But if you want to putt out of corners and like the low end torque you could go truck manifold. I have a lot of fun just hitting 7000 rpms in 2nd while on the on ramp of a highway.SAY WHAT,
Don't get me wrong, if I was track bound every chance I got, the 18 manifold makes sense. I just don't like being so close to 8000 RPM. The consensus about the stock F150 manifold is it drops off fairly quickly after about 6500 RPM. The Ford power pack 2 is good to about 7500 RPM. Will porting the F150 manifold help carry it further out at the higher RPM range?
Yeah - I had mine out around the mountain roads outside Sydney (Australia!) on the weekend. The thing drives so well on twisty mountain roads. Keeping the car (6MT) between 3rd and 4th was brilliant.SAY WHAT,

You are right... but here in Oz sometimes parts are hard to come by, as is time in the shop to get stuff done. Also a PSA... not trying to pick on you @TeamDenno but your posts caught my attention..
If your planning on doing multiple things, install them and then get the tune. This is the reason tuners are raising prices. If your installing a 18 manifold and injectors, wait until you have both ready and they can send the tune for THAT COMBO. Plan out the build, get it installed then request the tune. Again, not trying to be a dick but causing the tuners more work is not beneficial for anyone.
It's all good, you have extenuating circumstances due to location, that is understandable. My response was aimed at people here stateside that do the same thing but for no good reason. You are right... but here in Oz sometimes parts are hard to come by, as is time in the shop to get stuff done.
I had an opportunity to get the Mani done without injectors before I managed to get hold of the injectors. The 47lb injectors here are on 6 week postage waiting from the US... unless you can find someone who has bought a Ford Performance charge kit which comes with these injectors, and is swapping them for 1000hp injectors before install.
Thats the reality of living in Australia and owning a US car
Nov-Jan is gorgeous. Its peak summer. My favourite time of the year (except is no good for intake temps!).It's all good, you have extenuating circumstances due to location, that is understandable. My response was aimed at people here stateside that do the same thing but for no good reason.
OT - hows the weather down there in the November-January months? May have to make a trip for work this fall/winter. Not looking forward to that 23hr flight if I go lol.
