It's oem racing parts. What does a pp2 cost new? How much money would it cost you to add all those options from the aftermarket? Price the swing and gurney flap, price the coolers that will perform and fit as good as ford made it. Price the tremec and whatever it cost to have rev match. Price the undercarriage parts to help with air flow. It would cost a lot more I think to add that stuff and it would void your warranty. You can buy this car with all this stuff. Beat the shit out of it on a track. When it breaks ford will replace it under warranty. When the pp2 breaks with all the aftermarket parts. Hopefully someone will have enough money to replace it out of their own pocket. The warranty is what makes this the best track ready 5.0
The thing is most WOULDN'T add most of those parts aftermarket as nobody has a need for them. Your paying for shit you'll never benefit from.... Now if they added a HEFTY boost of HP... That has value to nearly everyone and it would benefit from it...

Very much doubt that. Ford wouldn't even warranty track use for the Shelby last I recall. Only GM is serious about customers going to the track with an ostensibly "track ready" car as delivered by the factory. Now if your 'track' outing is not timed you have a sliver more footing. But Ford can trivially pull the engine parameter history, and track use is rather obvious in the data pattern. We'll see I guess but I am prepared to be bitterly disappointed.

- The base Mach 1 will be the current PP1, like my Bullitt had? MagneRide an option or stock?
may want to go reread the first couple of pages, ya? The Mach1 is a gussied up PP2.
- I was something about a cloth interior. So, this car is not necessarily a Premium Mustang? That should make a lot of folks happy.
Yes unlike the Bullitt the hints would suggest cloth seats/301a trim level is possible. That'll save a nice ~5k if it bears out.

Isn't the base Mach more PP1 and with the handling package PP2?

base is PP2 without the tires, but with coolers and an optional A10. w/ the handling package it is the GT350 without the FPC VooDoo.

Ding, ding, ding. And there is your answer boys and girls. Had Ford only said "projected" HP of 505 almost everybody would have loved it. The fact that is "only" has the 480HP of the Bullitt has soured many people for literally no reason. Now the Handling Package/10R80 is a legitimate gripe and I'm sure Ford knows it. Hopefully they are still working on making that happen.

I have a problem with trying to compare any GT to a Shelby. The GT350 is a totally different animal. Another thing, the PP2 is all about the tires so that comparison doesn't hold water either. Every version is a mix of this and that so why bother with the comparisons and just call it a Mach 1?

PP2 is also about the aero, and the base mach wil lhave better aero. also the handling programing, magnaride, etc, whichthe base mach will also have.

and the mach will have alot of the shelby suspension goodies, including some from the 500. it does not have the rear brakes however, which is....disappointing.

Thank you for making my point. The Mach 1 is more than a GT, a PP1, PP2, or a Bullitt. It can and should stand on its own.

I re-read the Ford information. It sounds like the "handling pack" is just the tires and spoilers. I have a 2018 GT Premium, A10 with the stock 265 20" tires and I like the ride better than my Bullitt with MagneRide. Sounds like this might be too stiff of a ride for me.

For the record, the original Mach 1 (69-70) didn't ride stiff. It was just a Mustang with at least a 351 c. i. V-8. I hope Ford did some fine tuning on the ride. The A10 re-do, however would be great.

And that 2 barrel was a monster.

I still new here, but ill give my idea on how ford can fix the mach1.

1. POWER instead of the 350 intake, use the ford performance cobra jet with a specialized tune to give the 5.0 more power like 505 hp. Also they can market the engine more by calling this the 5.0 high output cobra. This will relate to how the original 69/70 Mach had an available cobra jet engine. Plus it will make it more unique compared to the rest of the lineup.

2. LOOKS A shaker hood at this point is wishful thinking, but if ford could develop a functional NACA HOOD with a wider hood stripe, instead of just putting a stripe on a regular mustang hood it will give it a fuller look

3. LIGHTS I personally like the air intake faux lights, but ford should have did what mopar does to the challengers lights. They need to add an led trim ring around the faux lights, they don’t even need to be functional headlights that actually progect light, as long as it gives it a good asthetic to the appearance of the car when it lights up. Oh and a tribar pony grille emblem. That’s my .02

What I like about those faux lights is it according to the video they can be removed for additional cooling. That's a throwback to Ford's cold air intake of a 1963 and 64 Fords.

The best 5.0 non Shelby Mustang ever absolutely just doesn't look like a Mach1
